Fourth Investigation

It's hard to tell that - of if - the motive has passed. The radios are the same, there are no missing powers, the day begins like any other. But there's something heavy hanging over you, the knowledge that, well... it's Friday. And unpleasant things happen in New Rapture on Fridays.

While we would love to say it's remotely quiet and peaceful, we can't. Helios Suites and the grounds around them are body-free, at least, but... there's a series of booming noises coming from somewhere else in New Rapture, echoing through the empty halls.

Looks like the game is afoot, citizens.

...The fireworks have stopped, for the record. ]

[i've been informed my participation is mandatory so joy's wandering around, trying not to be... she's upset about this one and she doesn't want to be.]

[ Don't worry about it.

Well. Actually, maybe worry about it. When Joy leaves her room this morning, she'll find Dandy's bracelet laid outside her door. It comes with an unsigned note, one with terrible penmanship. It reads: ]

[ This is not actually a bit of evidence for this area, just some upsetting flavor! ]

[well. that explains why she's so upset, probably! she's wearing the bracelet, fiddling with it as she tries to make herself useful. are the fireworks still around, even if they're not going off? should she investigate those?]

[ Looks like all of them have gone off! Someone prepared a show... Joy will able to note from the trajectory that they were set to go off right above the dark ride. ]

[interesting. explains the smoke, but also... that's almost like a signal. she adjusts the lay of the handkerchief on her face and walks in that direction, trying to determine a timeline here.]

[ As she does so, she'll find well. All those empty fireworks crates unaccounted for, with something strange sticking out of one of them. ]

[hm. well, that's strange and she hates it! what's this thing sticking out of the crate, though?]

[ It's a deluxe letter opener! Also known as one of those one-handed swords from our dear friend the vending machine. It's bloody and its tip is very banged up. ]

[.......... she's gonna take it with her. so nandor can lick it, obviously. it's what dandy would have wanted.]
