SECOND INVESTIGATION

Your third Friday in the facility dawns like the last two, where you've historically had a 50-50 shot at not, you know, having someone be murdered somewhere. Needless to say, the atmosphere is probably tense. You've already lost someone, but... is that enough? There's a whole chest of maybe literal pirate gold at stake, here, and for all of you who have derided the motive there's no doubting that money isn't exactly something that nobody out there kills for, right?

The lights of the facility click on to signal the end of nighttime, and one by one you start to wake. Things seem pretty normal as you all leave your rooms, but... didn't you feel this way last week, too?

It's really no problem.

[ ... right off the bat, she can tell something is like. Off. But she snaps the photos, and when she gets to Piers's body... ]

Are those-- bite marks?

Bite marks, yes. The, er, cause of death is blood loss.

[ Welcome to the guessing game, Mira. ]

You can tell right away by the color of his skin. That extremely pale, pink livor mortis...it's consistent with severe, severe anemia. And that wound is almost certainly the cause of it.

[ Sorry, Mira. ]

[ Oof. No, it's fine!! Everything is f i n e. ]

[ What the fuck!! ]

[ Yeah, see, you get it!! ]

I really don't know. The obvious implication would be that he was killed somewhere else, but normally you'd see some sign of that on the body. Some indication that he was dragged away, or that he was carried off...something. But unfortunately, there don't appear to be any signs of that, in this case. And of course, there's no indication that it was here at one point and cleaned up, either. Even without my luminol, I can tell you that.

So, well...here we are.
