Good morning, New Rapture. The long night is ending.

Your number is as low as it's going to go. You may not know it for sure yet, but there's something in the cold New Rapture recycled air that suggests maybe things are about to change. An act of defiance against the Mayor actually panned out, and now... the mysteries of the underwater city are beginning to finally reveal themselves to you. How much has been just smoke and mirrors, like the execution room? How much has been real? And how much longer can your captor continue to avoid granting you answers?

No new wing of the city, this week. There are still offices to explore in city hall, if you'd like, but in general you get the feeling that it's going to take a change to make the next new information available. And make no mistake: change is coming, my friends. Stay strong. Stay together. Get any last coins in before the end.

[He's a little awkward about it. Brett's not...even sure he's angry at Forrest, at the end of the day? But that doesn't mean he feels great.]

[He waves a hand vaguely in what's meant to be an approximation of "swinging battle axes and fighting guys".]

In any case, you do not have to be concerned. You have helped us get this far, so I am certain those of us who are combat-ready will protect you.

[He has been through a lot...maybe it is better to step off for a bit anyway. Brett thinks it's probably better he gets his own shit in order a little, too.

You can't just...expect one person to be responsible for managing all this.

I should have done more, at the very least. I did not even manage anything of particular risk beyond apprehending one culprit attempting to inflict further injury.

…I am glad I managed to stop him in time, truly. But I was not alone in that, either.

...I started thinking maybe I should carry a knife or something after that. But then I thought...they'd probably just take it from me, and then they'd have a knife.

["They" is unclear, as always. Whoever might attack him, he supposes.]

I think those devices that emit just enough electricity to stun someone are a better investment on that front, truth be told. Particularly given that I believe there are fewer ways to accidentally kill an assailant with one than a knife.

Yeah, I just never got one. I kept pulling the way more dangerous things instead. [..]. I...do have one now, though.

Yes, I doubt it will come to that at this point, at the very least. It cannot hurt to be prepared, of course.

In any case, I... suppose you could, yes. Perhaps give them something non-lethal to see their capabilities before giving them an actual sword.

I am more concerned he might accidentally stab things that shouldn’t be stabbed rather than things that should.
