Good morning, New Rapture. You may yet see the sun today.

But before that, there's work to be done. The Mayor has sent you some sort of ultimatum, though as usual was reluctant to explain herself. You're going to meet her, to some end? It's unclear. But one way or another, you're aware that things are ending today. Spirits may be low, but at least there's that. After a night of bowling, you're probably ready for this.

As you wake in the morning, though, each suite will find something unexpected in the common area, something that absolutely wasn't there last night: an envelope, addressed to the surviving members. An attached note on the outside reads as follows:

Good morning, citizens of New Rapture. In accordance with new directives from Designations: Misfire, Space Dandy, et al. I have been asked to deliver this. Please use the included to lift your spirits, and feel free to use your new bathysphere access to gain what information you can before you face the Mayor. You know what the key does, I gather, and the card will grant you access to Fontaine Futuristics Headquarters, where the Mayor currently resides. If you do not gather information properly, you will be unable to do what she is about to ask of you. Your friends will be watching.

Included in each envelope is a silver key, a limited Hall of the Founders bathysphere access card, and a copy of this letter. Your friends are counting on you. Go rally in the Hall of the Founders and get ready.

It's time for one last investigation.

[weirdly enough? the blueprints!

Is there a plane? She really wants one to be a plane.]

[ If you're looking for a vehicle, there actually are blueprints for a submersible car in here, as well as for enclosed underwater highways. Though it looks like they never made it past the concept stage. ]

Okay, no, that's interesting. She flips through them to see if there's anything of interest scribbled on there.]

[ It looks like they were proposed by an anonymous Founder, which... is one hell of a symbolic at best way to retain anonymity but sure. I'll also give you that they all look like relatively modern Earth cars. ]

[so, not horses or buggies! got it. She sets them aside-- any other blueprints?]

[ There's one for a multipurpose simulation room - the idea is basically that you can load an area and the screens and some wind machines will simulate it, and some modular robots with holographic shells will simulate whatever actors you want to control in the space! You know, like a certain place you might be familiar with from the last couple months. ]

[Oh, great. She sure does recognize this-- and takes a closer look to see if any of the details make any sense. Maybe she can figure out something about where their friends are...]

[ It sure does seem to be, at least outwardly, not intended for just emotionally damaging executions, but like. Criminal Justice is listed as one of its potential applications by its designers, Gunnar Maelstrom and Handsome Jack. ]

[ Looks like a Handsome Jack solo project - the plans for those bird robots the Mayor uses. They're called Sparrows here, because they're smaller versions based on a larger model called Songbird. They receive encoded commands through specific pieces of music, which controls their actions. ]

[Handsome, and he likes birds. A man after her own heart.

Is there any information about these specific pieces of music?]

[ The default piece is something called Cohen's Masterpiece. Beyond that, tracks are added by whoever controls them. ]

[Must be from a time she missed, since she has no idea what the fresh fuck that is-- but it might be important later, so-- filed away! Next Blueprint!]

[ There's one more blueprint before we move to the relevant model, but this one seems to have been removed and returned more recently than any of the others. It's a diagram, apparently taken directly from the first Rapture, detailing the same diving suit Eleanor wears all the time. ]

[ It seems to have been surgically bonded to her in some way - there are a few handwritten notes theorizing how to remove it. ]

[ Looks like it involves a lot of complicated plasmid application and surgery, if it can be done at all? This is someone operating in theory - surgery and genetics are clearly not their core area of expertise, though they're more than familiar with the technology involved. ]

Any other notes on there, before model time?]

[ Nope!

The model is... its base seems to be a model of New Rapture. You recognize it from what you've seen outside, it looks pretty similar. Looking at the buildings, you see familiar last names of Founders - Wesker Industries, Oberlin Commerce, etc - that you haven't been able to see because they've been for the most part turned off.

However, this model features an expansion to New Rapture. Nearly half the size of the existing neighborhoods, these areas are labelled "For Expansion by Founders".

However, the dust that has settled over the model has highlighted a small piece of white tape on the label. ]

[tape??? in a tag to sam???? washi tape for sam????

Okay, all that nonsense aside... She's definitely going to peel that tape off!]

[ The tag now says "For Expansion by New Founders!"
