there's always a lighthouse. there's always a beach party.
[ Welcome to... a very nice beach, actually! It's very pleasant here. Carmen has set up a couple bonfires, there's some barbecues with meat to cook... and a lot of beach to hang out on! ]
Welcome to California's Pigeon Point Light Station State Park! Between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, just south of Pescadero, this lighthouse gets it's name from the Carrier Pigeon, a ship that wrecked here in 1853! ... Sorry, old habit. Go party. We have the whole place to ourselves. Most everyone here's been through something like this, or knows someone who has. And... the vending machine's bringing in some friends of yours, too.
[ It's a warm late summer night - not too hot for bonfires, but not too chilly that you need to stick by them to survive.
You've made it to the end. There are fellow survivors to meet and commiserate with, friends to meet or catch up with, and... it's over. For those of you returning, it's been about a year since the end of Round 2, and Carmen's gotten the word out to as many people as she can between trying to help this round and tracking down Round 0. If you'd like to play a hostage from the first motive, just know that they will remember it, but it's up to the player in the main round if time has passed since then or not so... it may have been a day or two ago or it may have been months! And hell with it, if you want to play a Round 0 character you suggested back in r1, come talk to us. Why not?
EDIT: Asher has gone to the trouble of making a toplevel directory for anyone intimidated by the number of pages!
Enjoy the last log of Unknown Seas! You've earned it. Love meme will come later tonight in the ooc comm. ]

landing
Little Lady, wait!! You don't know what could be over--!
[But oh, she does. It's a sweet familiarity, and Adaman pauses in his steps when he sees the terrifying creature and hears a familiar booming voice that Adaman stalls, only for a moment--]
Warden Ingo? Is that you?!
[Glaceon, for her part, is absolutely elated to see Ingo here--she presents herself primly, and Adaman decides to finally catch up with his little squad in tow.]
no subject
[Ingo drops to one knee to greet Glaceon as she comes over. But then, he was looking for her, even if he had no particular reason to expect her here. Adaman's far more of a surprise. Ingo has never been one to emote much, but his eyes go wide despite his perpetual frown. He rises quickly to his feet.]
Leader Adaman?
no subject
Adaman, however, runs up to the both of them--mostly just to make sure he really isn't seeing things, and sure enough, he isn't.]
Yes, that's me! In the flesh! [Man, is it strange he sounds so relieved to see him? He's one of the first breaths of familiarity that he's seen in weeks, just--] I can attempt to explain what happened, though you may find it a touch unbelievable...but really, I should be saying the same of you! How did you get here--what happened to you, and are you alright?
[He wants to ask how Hisui is doing--he's not sure, himself, what answer awaits, but...well, mostly he wants to make sure Ingo didn't get hurt in the process of coming here.]
no subject
[Given his history, it would've been really alarming if he'd landed alone. But there's people he knows here, and he remembers everything he supposes he ought to - it's alright.]
But are you well? It has been months - if you'll forgive my saying so, we believed you were lost.
[He'd participated in the searches. Tensions between the clans are the lowest he's ever seen them, lately; even if they weren't, Ingo was one of the last people known to have seen Adaman, and near his own Noble's seat to boot. Of course he would have tried to help regardless.]

Warden Ingo, this truly must stop happening to you! [Adaman laughs just a bit, but.] But I suppose all happens according to Almighty Sinnoh's will, does it not? You were fated to be here, and here you are now. And truthfully, I am glad to see you, and unharmed at that.
[The question, though...Adaman rubs at the back of his head a bit, gaze averting, but he'll look back to Ingo resolutely after.]
It would not be an incorrect statement, to say that I was so. I, and many of the other people here--we were kidnapped into a game that intended to make us kill one another. Our captor provided us 'motives' used to entice us or force our hands, and I was...unfortunately killed by one of those such motives, for a time.
[do you want the cliffnotes version, ingo, because adaman will provide the cliffnotes version of all of the deadland bullshit.
Whether asked to clarify or not, though--Adaman seems uncertain for a moment, but he will ask none the less.]
What has happened, in my absence? Has...is everything alright, back in Hisui--with our clans? [...] Is Mai okay?
[adaman: still the only one who doesn't know that the hostages from week 2 actually made it home okay]
no subject
[Ingo's seen some strange things - many, specifically, since Adaman's disappearance. But the dead rising is still quite outside that realm! So, for that matter, is the entire concept of a murdergame, although at least it sounds physically possible.
But while he has many questions, he will not leave Adaman in suspense!]
Leader - ah, Miss Mai? [Adaman is probably leader again now, right?] She is quite well! Shortly after your departure, she vanished for several days as well, but she swiftly returned to her station of departure! She told a story of a strange room, and strange people there with her, but...none of us could tell where she may have been.
[He's a little hesitant over it. Because while nothing about the specifics sounded any more familiar to Ingo than anybody else, the way she described the room - lit as if by the captured power of a Rotom, cooled by air pumped through a machine another captive tried to explain - that was...well, at the least, he had no trouble imagining it.]
Since then, no one else has vanished, though many other things have occurred! Miss Akari has dealt conclusively with the matter of the rift! It is no more!
no subject
[Really, the less he gets into his own head after all of this? The better. He's had it bad enough!
Still, he listens to Ingo with rapt attention, and...well, he has a small smile on his face. So Mai was the one who stepped up, in the end. Truth be told, he had worried about that and the strain it would put on her, but...well, give him a moment to wipe at his eyes, he's totally not tearing up.]
So she was...she was okay, at the end of it all. That...that truly pleases me. [...] Our second week here, she was taken hostage as an incentive to compete in this game. We couldn't communicate with them, and she threatened to make a game similar to the one we were in with them if we did not act.
[And to say the very least, Adaman didn't take it well. Still, he shakes his head, bringing back up a smile.]
Ah, but I shouldn't waste Almighty Sinnoh's time like this. The rift has finally disappeared?! [I WENT WITH REI IN ADAMAN'S TIMELINE JUST AS AN FYI BUT--] Thank Almighty Sinnoh above! It is good to know that we no longer have that hanging above our heads, and our nobles can finally live in peace now. Truly, one could want for nothing more.
no subject
Indeed! You may even meet your almighty Sinnoh, if you like. There were two all along, one of time and one of space, and both came through the rift before its closure!
[Dialga in the pastures getting BIG PETS and SNACK CAKES, it's living its best life.
Ingo still seems discomfited by all this talk of murder and death games, but...Adaman is before him, healthy and whole. They may not know each other well, but it's still a relief; Ingo never wants anyone to come to harm, and having been involved in the search, he's seen more than enough of the Diamond Clan's pain to be greatly relieved for their sake. In many ways, all the recent crises have brought the two clans closer together.]
Things have been very strange, lately.
