WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[ Judging by his tone, he didn't sound like he was joking. ]

Cid's not exactly the type of person to throw rowdy parties. Has far too short of a tolerance and patience for that.

Sounds like my kind of guy.

[Is Therion really going to get more standoffish the longer this experiment goes on? Signs point to yes.]

[ Considering that Vincent was who he was, he saw hardly any problem with it.

Though, that just brought on a simple question, more than anything. ]

Sure. Surly, unfriendly, appreciates his drink? We could glower at each other in passing and never exchange a word. What's better than that?

You've the wrong idea. Cid would inevitably strike up conversation with you if you stayed long enough in his company.

He's surly, but the talkative type.

Ugh. Never mind, then. I prefer to drink in peace.

[valentinus]

[ A slight smile touched his lips. ]

That would be wise. He'd shatter that peace soon enough.

[Therion pauses to glance at Vincent, then returns to his pilfering.]

Didn't take you for the kind to gather chatty types, yourself.

[valentinus]

...it is more like they ended up gathering myself, than anything like that.

[ Sometimes it just happened that way. ]

Ah. That sounds familiar.

[Sometimes, that's just how it be in this JRPG party city.]

You've your own experience being dragged along on travels yourself...?

Safety in numbers. I have my business to see to, and theirs hasn't taken me out of my way. Not yet, at least.

[valentinus]

I can understand that. In a way, it was the same for me.

[ Kind of. ]

Just "in a way"?

I would've been fine being left alone. But they disturbed my rest, and I understood that there was something I could not accomplish by myself.

[ Then afterwards he went by his lonesome when all was said and done ]

[Huh.]

Might be somewhat different from my party, then. We travel together, but I'm not asking them for their help with my work. After all, what I do... doesn't really sit well with most.

[valentinus]

It could be.

[ ...Well, he did remember what the other's occupation was listed on the profiles. ]

It makes sense. There was someone like you in the group I was in when we traveled together.

[ Though Therion seemed much more mature. ]

You mean a thief?

[Or an asshole?]

[valentinus]

Yes, a thief. Though...she'd be like your complete opposite.

[ Excitable, sociable. Nothing like how Therion seemed to be. ]

Huh. In what way?

[Like, is she any good at it? Because if she is, rude, he's great at theft.]

[valentinus]

[ Oh Therion... ]

Speaking on her personality alone...she's the type of person who would get herself into trouble simply because she can be full of herself. She's lively, and overly friendly.

Sometimes she can have difficult times respecting boundaries.

Though, it's not as if she's incapable of being a good thief...that is, when she can be quiet.

[ His words sound harsh but it sounded like he didn't disapproval of her. Because she was one of his friends. ]

...Sounds more like our merchant girl than me. You're right.

[He wouldn't call Tressa Colzione a friend, of course, but he likewise doesn't sound entirely disapproving.]

To be fair, she'd make a halfway decent thief, too. If she could be quiet. She's clever enough for it.

[And mercenary enough. No one would ever suspect her, either.]
