WEEK 4
Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.
You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.
And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...
Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

SUNDAY
Investigation (or possibly just theft)
...Except the bar. It may be eight-something in the morning, but Therion's already hopped into the bartender's area to rifle through the available spirits. Anything with a label gets inspected; some are returned to their place, and others are set aside on the floor next to him, out of anyone else's easy reach.
He also, at some point, leaves a paper note folded in the Area A men's restroom.
We're allowed to explore all night. Why can't we sleep outside our rooms?]

investigation!
It's hard to think of a practical use for any of these new areas; if the last ones said leisure to her, after all, these are practically screaming it at the top of their lungs. But everything has a reason and a place, and she's always been adamant about taking full advantages of all of the resources they have, so for today, she's up and at 'em, with her head in the game and her feet in the bar.
First things first, she's going to poke around behind shelves and take inventory of their stock. It's a cute little area, and it'll come in handy if they're looking to wind down after a day of swimming in the pool, but she's moreso on the hunt for anything here that doesn't quite belong. Is it just an ordinary old bar?
Of course, that'll change if anyone pokes their head in on her while she's digging through. She's more than happy to flash anyone hankering for a drink a smile and wave them over to play barten; mixing drinks is basically like chemistry, isn't it? ...Right? ]
What'll it be? I'm no professional, but I can follow a recipe and listen, and that's half the job, I think!
[ Maybe keep it simple-- ]

Investigation!
The new rooms are kind of inspiring a lot of oh, I do not like this at all, but he can be found in the arcade of all places at some point, looking at the newer games like they're some kind of witchcraft before finding some of the classic fighting games to mess around on. He's actually pretty good at them, for someone who seems to have more or less grown up under a rock.
That said, though, he'll be sure to investigate in here before leaving, just because this seems like an acceptable place to do so. Might as well, right?
That said, he'll leave that wing of the building entirely afterwards - somehow, getting drunk in a place like this seems a bad idea - and spend some time elsewhere. The cafeteria, putting the Professor's money to good use and letting the leech demolish a cut of meat that's entirely too nice for it (seriously, that leech eats better than Birkin does); the lounge after the fact, which is just the latest place he's taken up his papercrafting. He's actually wearing the locket he got early on, the one with the family portrait inside; once in a while he'll mess with it, absently, but he's leaving it closed for now.
He seems kind of out of it, the later into the day it gets, spending longer periods of time playing with the locket rather than actually doing anything of value, dubious or otherwise; he'll...be fine, probably. Just kind of one of those days.]

investigation! (and also a v minor warning for drowning)
Closer inspection will reveal her walking around on the bottom of the pool as if the water doesn't impede her movements at all. Even her hair doesn't look too much floatier than normal — you'd think that given how long it is, and how tall she is, some of it would be on the surface of the water, but it's right down with the rest of her form. She paces back and forth, looking for anything that might prove useful on the floor of the pool. Does anything look immediately out of place? Are there any cracks or discolorations on the floor? There's a lot to look for, but since she needs to breathe, let's just start there.
Since Jasper doesn't know she needs to breathe, she stays down a lot longer than a normal person might, but after about four minutes something starts to feel wrong. Wherever she's at in her inspection, a sudden tightness seizes her chest. It feels like organs she doesn't even have are rebelling against her. Everything in her is screaming that she needs to get to the surface, to air and freedom, and her own natural gravity is pinning her down. For a few seconds, it feels like the weight of the entire ocean holds her fast once again, and she forgets to not be afraid of it.
Abruptly, Jasper's head and chest break the surface of the water. She grabs the edge of the pool and gasps thunderously for breath, splashing the floor in the process. Happy Sunday, everybody!
Since she's never been one to not recklessly dive back into a source of trauma, she'll eventually go back down to continue investigating. When she's finally satisfied there's nothing to see, she pulls herself up from its depths and quickly rises to her feet. There's like five seconds where she stands still and quiet and slightly hunched over, all that off-white hair hanging bedraggled in her face and hiding her expression. Then she just kind of shakes off her entire body like she's a wet dog, in one violent motion. It's not even close to as effective as it's supposed to be, so when it's done she's still wet, but so are you, probably! ]
What are you looking at?
[ She investigates the bar and arcade while still drip-drying and none too happy about it. As ever, she's visibly confused by her surroundings, though the arcade seems to make more sense to her than the bar. It's just a bigger version of Snake, or that game controller she definitely shattered offscreen! A strong odor of chlorine lingers well after she's finally dried off. ]
More games. [ She pronounces it with the air of someone who's got gum stuck to her shoe. ] Is that all this sector is for?
[ Later at night, you can find her in one of the gym showers, again fully clothed. She's just standing in there with her arms crossed, glowering. It's fine. ]

But it's just something that happens now, apparently, so she skips asking everyone else about it and goes up to check out the new area instead. The arcade is interesting enough - she thinks there's a place like this in Beach City! She's pretty sure they give out real tickets, though? She'll play a few games of skeeball, just for the heck of it, but watching the numbers go up isn't terribly interesting to her.
After that, she swings by the water park. She doesn't leap directly into the water, leaning down by the pool to inspect it instead. This is...the gross bad-smelling water humans started swimming in at some point, for some reason. Why did it have to be the stink water?
Eventually, though, she decides to at least go down the slides a few times. Hope y'all like getting splashed.
Towards the evening, she retreats back to the lounge. She's got a new project this time - crocheting! Crochet hooks are much larger than sewing needles! This should be a lot easier, and it's something to keep her hands busy while she...watches The Little Mermaid again, apparently.]

Second of all, she's in the art room again--she's got the portraits all sketched out, so all they need is paint. She gets Piers's done first, but Alice's... once she gets to Alice's, it looks like she's having a rough time. It's fine, though. In the end, she leaves it for a little later--just her eyes are painted in, for now.
She suspects there's a new area, so off she goes to that, with Daisy following close behind. She ignores the bar because... listen, there might not be any laws here, but she still doesn't want to do any underage drinking. The waterpark, though... reluctantly, she's glad for it. Ugh.
She doesn't make use of it, but stands with her arms folded tight across her chest, staring at the whole thing. ]
What a terrible reward.
[ Eventually she leaves, and decides to check out the arcade. Again, she hates that she's happy for something else to do? But instead of leaving, she decides to play a couple games. Whack-a-Mole? Yes, absolutely... though she's bringing that mallet down with a little too much force than is necessary. ]

That's super fine. Great. Okay. He'll sit down for breakfast in the cafeteria with a cup of tea and some sausage and eggs as he gives his device an incredibly nasty look.
So now... it's time to check out the new areas, and they're all weird as hell to a guy from the danged middle ages. He's not even going to bother figuring out the water park outside of just giving it a very confused look when he looks in to see what it... is... but the arcade kind of intrigues him. Especially when he comes across... Sega Bass Fishing.
He is absolutely going to spend most of the day playing Sega Bass Fishing. He is not completely at peace with the world, but you know what? He is having a good time, even if it takes him a little while to get used to given that modern fishing rods aren't really what he's used to.]

She, however, once she realizes that there is a bar she brings her bottle of Malort. She leaves it and.. takes one of the smaller bottles. Rhea doesn't stop to drink it, though. She just... leaves.
In fact, she heads straight to the woman's restroom. The scent of alcohol probably lingers as she just pours it down the drain. What? She doesn't think she could get drunk off it, anyway. It probably smells better than the Malort, at least.
After that, she stops by her room and lingers around the lounge for a little while before heading back to the chapel. There is a small statue of a woman in her arms.]/small>

MONDAY

Anna's in the sewing room in the morning, where you can find her laying out fabric, cutting squares, or... taking a seam ripper and dissecting one of those Bootleg Monobears from the vending machine. Sure? What.
Her art project doesn't take all day, though; in the afternoon, she'll be in the water park, but certainly not to have fun. Instead, she's in one of those wetsuits from the machine, rather than the provided swimsuit, and she's... trying to climb up one of the slides itself rather than go up the stairs. Is that even possible? We'll find out.
Either way, after that, Anna's off to the vending machine. She puts in a few coins, gets a pile of pretty normal stuff... but then the toy laser sword comes out. She's already gotten blue and red, what's this one...
As soon as she activates the plastic blade, a bright green, Anna's grip tightens on the handle for a second. She flings the toy out of the room, straight across the hallway. You'll find her screaming incoherently and stabbing it with a spear, because that's normal.]

CONSOLIDATING AS PER USUAL
Although...beneath those words are a few more written in red:
...And they're written exactly like that.
Otherwise, he's not exactly around a whole lot, though he does end up in the workshop again for quite a while due to the machine spitting out more things he can add to the abomination he's got going on. At this point it's a lot of jutting limbs and seven heads all placed in areas around the peripheral edges where heads probably shouldn't be; what is ostensibly the torso is just kind of a mass, with thinner, shattered wooden pieces stabbing outward from the center of the chest in a way that's almost reminiscent of fangs, albeit at the wrong angle entirely.
It's fuckawful, but as always, it's something to do with himself and not much more than that.]

...Anyway, long story short, she discovered a light gun machine. She's been trying to beat House of the Dead for the last 45 minutes.
In the evening, Rin can be found at the vending machine. Everything is going great, when suddenly, a skull drops out of the vending machine's chute. She expects plastic, but when she reaches down to retrieve it, two things happen in very close succession:
1.) She realizes this does, in fact, feel like real human bone.
2.) It begins to moan. Spookily.
Rin screams and throws it across the room.
...Other than that, though, it's a pretty typical haul! Most other items can be bartered for. ]

TUESDAY
MOTIVE
The meeting room. Now, same as usual.
[ The Professor seems just as cheery as ever. Once you arrive, Angel starts handing out envelopes, which is definitely a good sign. Nothing went wrong the last time that was part of one of these!
And once everyone has arrived, the screen flicks on and the announcement begins. ]
So, it seems you all want to play selflessly and not kill for your own gain. Very well, I will change my offer accordingly.
Listen to me carefully: I have a number of advanced devices and some powerful connections, as well as a device that allows me to travel freely throughout time and space. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I’m capable of quite a bit if I invest enough into the effort. Which is where these envelopes come in. Open them now, if you please.
[ Inside each envelope is a picture of someone your character cares about very much, just a perfectly normal candid snapshot. ]
This week, my offer is this: Kill and get away with it and I’ll grant this person’s greatest wish. You can choose not to believe I am able, that’s up to you, but… I suggest you not underestimate what I am capable of.
No other announcements today, don't worry, back to your business.

Investigation
His next stop is the laundry room. His cloak is dry, but it still smells like chlorine, and that is unacceptable. It's time to try to figure out how these damnable machines work. He shoves his cloak into one washer, slams the door with unnecessary force, and then stares at the instructions on the box of off-brand detergent pods as though attempting to set the thing on fire with his mind.
...He's gonna have to open that door again to add the cleaning agent, huh.
Apparently, laundry's going to take a while, and Therion still has plenty of furious energy to burn. Where else to take it but the fitness room? He doesn't even look at the punching bags, though. Instead, he heads to an open area with mats laid down, removes his shoes, paces with his hands in his hair for a couple minutes, and then begins, surprisingly, to dance.
With his cloak in the wash, his sleeves short, and his shirtfront perma-open, his collection of scars are perfectly on display. As are his abs. Like, if you're into that. And he stopped caring if people saw the iron band locked around his wrist a while ago. Dance practice doesn't seem to be doing anything for his feelings, if the unchanging tightness of his expression is any indication, but at least it focuses his energies.
Hopefully all those handstands and kicks are enough to calm him down before their usual weekly gathering.
Late in the evening, he's finally tired himself out enough to investigate the men's restroom in Area C. What're these lockers like, then, and when can he shove the Professor's corpse into one?
And then it's vending machine time. Therion's always cautious about his haul and tonight's no different, as he stows a few items at a time in a wastebasket to truck them back to Room 24. Sometimes, though, he stays a moment to inspect a particularly weird object, like this... juicy-flavored... something? Or the Incredible Soaking Device. What even is that?
He forgets all of it instantly when the machine deposits a large, round, ruby-red gemstone into his hand.
Finally.]

...they both made it look so easy. I really should have asked them to show me a thing or two...
[...even if they do kind of suck, he winds up heading over to the sewing room to try and make sure they’re at least kind of padded. The result looks a bit more like a very sad looking scarecrow than a training lance... but it’s... something. He goes to try it out in the reasonably wide open space of the Area C hallway annnnnd the padded tip keeps falling off. Like. He looks like he would very definitely know what he was doing with an actual spear, but, um, he wasn’t... his brothers were good at smithing, he was the humanities student...
.........he’s just going to give up after a bit and play some Sega Bass Fishing in the arcade again, except he’s having a really bad time of that and just losing a lot, so eventually he just heads to the lounge, where he’s going through his device again and looks... confused about something. Actually, this is probably a good time to ask, so if he sees someone walking past, he’ll look up at them.]
I have something to ask of you. I didn’t want to draw undue attention to my profile beforehand, but I have been curious all this time and no one else has brought it up. What on earth is a... “D-I-L-F?”

It's time to try and relax or- or at least to get her mind off a few things. So, she's checking out the water park after changing into a quaint duck swimsuit and...well, kind of frowning at the walls, seriously why do they all have to be portals to the horrible fishy world around them, but you know, it's fine. It's fine. There's something else a little interesting she has with her, and it's...
Well. If she sees anyone else with a swimsuit on, she's just going to quietly raise it and wordlessly drench them with a Super Soaker.
Have fun.
That aside, the water park isn't really doing it for her, so Della's going to spend her time in the arcade. There's no Legends of Legend Quest, but she's been known to play a few different games in her time, so. Della's flitting about from game to game, not really settling on anything. A little DDR here, a little Time Crisis there... She's had to pull up a box to see the arcade cabinet properly, but here she is, poking her way about the whole place, trying to distract herself. Kind of idly sighing: ]
Huey would probably love this place.
[ And...while winding down for the night, at the dining hall, she's actually taking a look at the Bible+ copies she's gotten, because she just started tossing those aside after awhile but...she's curious, alright? And in one of them she finds something surprising enough that she chokes on her dinner, for a moment. ]
Seriously? I'm not complaining, but... A coffee shop, that's... Oh, huh...
[ ...And she's going to be absorbed in some Les Miserables fanfiction for awhile, because that's just what life is like, I suppose. ]

For now, after hanging around at the meeting for a little while before bouncing, Zelos has taken to his new favorite part of the facility, the water park. Actually, the bar may be more of the reason why he likes it here so much, but the combination of the drinks and being able to lay in a pool chair is enough to take the edge off for now.
So you’ll find him at different areas of the water park, dragging the pool chair around to find the perfect spot to chill with the obnoxious hurricane glass that looks like a palm tree that he has with him at all times. He’s also wearing the provided swimsuit, which is… way better than what could have been. ]
Now this is what I'm talking about. The only thing this place needs is the sun, the beach, and some cute beachgoers, and this'd be perfect.
[ Once he gets tired of that, he finally swings over to the vending machines to cash in on the coins he’s managed to get. Out of the two items he’s received, his attention is fully squared on one of them. ]
An egg? Why an egg?
[ The rest of the night, after depositing his stuff in his room, he makes his way back to the arcade, looking at everything for what seems like the 800th time before gravitating towards a Jubeat cabinet, tapping away at it for a long while before moving on to the other rhythm game cabinets. A lot of this stuff seems pretty mindless, which is... probably what he needs at the moment. ]

Worms eat dead plants, right? [Is this how you compost-slash-garden]
[Much later in the evening, sitting in one of the tunnels with her back to the glass, she finally tears open her motive envelope. It may not be the best idea to do it in public, but...well, it's night. No one's around. She can find out without being locked away alone, and then be done with it. This can't possibly be as bad as the first one.
Whatever she sees makes her freeze for a moment, before lifting a trembling hand to her mouth.]

After the announcement, and Sly's involvement at the meeting, the raccoon wanders off to do... whatever he wants, really. That takes him off to the North Tunnel where he's leaned back against the glass. Instead of looking out at the fish, his eyes are turned down to the photo and envelope in his hands. Brow knitted together, he seems... lost in his thoughts.]

THURSDAY
no subject
He's not exactly being sociable on Thursday, either, but at least he's out of the room, albeit looking like a disaster by his own standards; he usually tries to at least make himself look presentable, but today it's just...jeans and tie-dye and that oversized locket he has with him sometimes around his neck, and he's back in the laundry room sitting in the back corner, just straight-up on the floor with his head resting against one of the machines that's currently turned on. Maybe he likes the vibrations, who knows. Either way, it's probably hard to tell whether he's actually awake or if he's just kind of crashed in here, but he'll actually look up if you approach and he's not being punished by anybody so it's pretty safe to assume he's awake, he's just...really out of it and seeming sort of zoned out.
He'll also be in the lounge for a little while, at least, though not for very long before getting up; he may be moving to leave with an audible "fuck this" under his breath, though he also doesn't seem aware of anyone else that might happen to be in here. So chances are good that it's not you, it's him.]
