WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[It's a bit of a rhetorical question, but apparently Shelley does await an answer]

Always. In fact, I'd be a little insulted if you weren't.

[ She seems more than sincere about that, at least! ]

Feel free to tell me anything. I promise I'm listening.

No, I'm not okay. At first I didn't mind being trapped here -- there was good company, and the place was kinda nice. But then people started dying -- people I liked. They were my friends.

[She sighs]

I miss them. I knew them for just a few weeks, but I miss them.

[At least Shelley has a bowtie to remember Alice by, but she wishes she also had something representing Lif and Aela]

I know what you mean. It was only a few weeks, you're right, but they were people we were seeing every day. Obviously their absence is going to be felt, no matter who it is.

[ She keeps at mixing her drink, but she continues... ]

It's not right, and it's not fair, but...well, just because we can't see it, the sun still rises in the morning, right? We're still here, and we can make sure they're not forgotten...

[drladysounds]

[Shelley follows the mixer's movements up and down, just to have something to look at while she talks]

We should make a memorial, with statues and flowers and something nice etched into rock. Something so the entire world knows those five were here and now they're gone.

[Well, it doesn't have to be that, but the spirit is there: something so the world at large doesn't forget them]

I think that sounds like a great idea. Maybe see about talking to Mira about coordinating something together. She's been making those paintings, and they came out really lovely...I think if you two put your heads together, you could make something to make sure that people couldn't possibly forget. You're both very creatively-minded, in that regard.

I'll bring the idea to Mira, but I have never been that good with my hands. The fine arts are beyond my reach, you don't want to be immortalized in a sculpture made by me. Unless you want to have a hunchback and probably a bad case of the cubism art movement.

Well, she can handle the parts with her hands, and you can be the wordsmith. You did write that novel in a pretty short amount of time, after all, didn't you?

[drladysounds]

That's a good idea. I will immortalize them all with the power of the pen.

[Shelley smiles. Looks like having something to do has cheered her up a lot]

Look at that, I didn't need spirit drinks to have my spirits lifted. Thanks.

If that lifted your spirits, something tells me that this will make you feel a little better.

[ Watermelon juice, lemon juice, strawberry syrup, two cups gin, three parts tonic...and a sprig of mint, for garnish! ]
