WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[ ooc: Welcome to Week 4! Remember to turn in AC here, threads for regain coins here, and if you feel so inclined you can visit Angel's office hours over here! ]

Reasonable enough. I am hardly one to criticize, after all.

It is understandable. Force is usually not associated with the clergy but it seems that we have similar thoughts on the matter.

While the institution takes a stance of peace and neutrality on its surface, there are very strict and specific rules regarding the Church's stance on heretics. And a specific agency set aside to do what must be done, that the rest of God's faithful need not get their hands dirty.

A church must be willing to do what it must to protect the faithful. If that means executing a heretic or leading an army, then so be it. That is part of the reason why the Knights of Seiros exist so that Her will is enforced.

Indeed, such is the purpose of the Executors. That although demons and other such abominations are part of the world God created, they exist to strengthen the evils of mankind. Executors exist outside of that contradiction, and as such act to destroy even our Lord's demonic creations.

[who allowed you two to talk]

It is, regrettably, a demanding line of work. I've not been involved in it for quite a long time.

I can see how that can be a needed job. The Knights usually focus on terminating more earthly threats that cross country borders. However, I am proud of them... being able to fight against those who have turned from the Goddess's sight cannot be easy.

[Somewhere Catherine is blushing to death.]

I could not imagine how it takes toll on a person's mind and body.

I've heard the department referred to as a den of demons in their own right. The training alone is brutal beyond measure, with only those of extreme willpower and piety able to survive it.

[that's not something you should sound casual about, and yet,]

Vampires, mages, and the like are all earthly enough, at any rate. Able to be killed, obviously. So I presume your Knights of Seiros must be the same way.

Harsh but understandable. To be out on such a mission demands much, after all.

[...she shouldn't be so casually accepting of that, considering the Knights don't exactly have such high standards. She'll... ignore the mages part.]

Demonic beasts and other beastly creatures are often slain by the Knights, yes. As are those commit equally monstrous acts. Sometimes, however, as the enforcers of the Church there other tasks such as routing out criminal activity.

It sounds as though your reach exceeds our own. The Church deals more with what one would call the supernatural, rather than the mundane.

Mostly mundane matters are handled locally. However if aid is needed we will try to lend it. Of course, there are those who attempt crimes against the Church itself. Those lost souls are the most troubling.
