WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[After the motive and a token appearance at the meeting, Kirei made a brief stop at the bar, searching through the shelves for a bottle of red wine before disappearing into his room for a good while; it's been quite a day, maybe we all need some space!]

[A little closer to night saw him leave again, looking no less sober than he had in the morning. Making his way to the gym, one could find him with his coat set aside and...]

[She walks over to the weight equipment and frowns, not actually using it.]

Not that I'm sure anyone expected that of you.

One never can tell, in such dire circumstances.

[She picks up a small dumbbell, looks surprised for a moment, and stares at it.]

[ Okay, so Della doesn't stop by the gym often because the uh. The equipment isn't. Really sized for her? But she hears the sounds and those are...a little much! ]

...Wow. That's...two-for-two on religious figures who can really throw a punch.

I am aware of Rhea's...shall we say, 'surprising' capabilities.

[Kirei sounded even less sociable than usual, lowering whatever fighting stance he had been in.]

Was there something you needed?

No. No, just...heard someone going to town in here. [ Got a little curious. But, mostly-- ] You uh. You hit the gym often?

[Sighing, Kirei folded his arms behind his back; the secret was pretty much out, so why bother.]

The branch of the Holy Church to which I once belonged is...physically demanding, one could say.

Fisticuffs priest... Yeah, sure, I've heard weirder.

[ Is the punching bag like. In one piece? Is it Okay. ]

This level of workout always what you go for?

[It is, fortunately, usable, if a touch battered. We're not talking Captain America here.]

I don't know what you mean. We only have so much available to us at the moment.

Just wondering if the routine's a daily thing or... [ She sighs. Might as well not beat around the bush. ] Look, some people were a little put out today, is all I'm saying. Are you...doing okay?

Such a transparent attempt to aggravate us would do the Professor little good where I am concerned.

[Apparently it's time for the clergy to invade. Rhea's not as torn up about this motive -- she is tempted but that temptation was put aside. What her mother wished... might not have been what Rhea does, after all.

She's about to go after another punching bag when she notices Kirei.]

I admit I had not expected to see you like this. [But going feral on a punching bag she understands.]

I've no idea to what you refer, Rhea.

I am perfectly calm.

[She can't judge. She growls sometimes when she boxes. Totally normal.]

...hm. Perhaps I have fallen out of practice somewhat. It has been some time since my particular skill was required in any significant measure.

I understand... Admittedly I let that particular skill of mine fall by the wayside.

I would think an archbishop seen as prone to violence would reflect poorly upon her, does it not?

[like yeah nasuchurch is weird but the pope does not, to my knowledge, kick ass for the lord]

The founder of the church, Saint Seiros, was a general. While violence should not be one's first action if the Goddess stirred her own child to violence for the good of all, an archbishop should not hesitate to train themselves to do the same if the need arises.

Reasonable enough. I am hardly one to criticize, after all.

Impressive. I didn't think you were that good at brawling. Everyone is full of surprises down here.

[Shelley doesn't seem to be a denizen of the gym, but she was passing by when she saw Kirei beating up that bag to no end. She just had to comment about that]

It is hardly unprecedented, from agents of the Holy Church.

Your Holy Church is far better than any church I know. The only churches I know are nunneries, and they either are frail and pacifist, or wear gasmasks and worship kinky demons.
