Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

I am. [She rubs the back of her hand across her eyes, because obviously she's crying a little, but it's hardly the outburst she had over the secrets motive.] I just...it's not what I expected. That's all.

...What does that mean.

[It's not a friendly question, but it's not an unfriendly tone, either--quieter than usual, even. He looks kind of uncomfortable, standing there while she has some type of emotion.]

She...can't really want anything anymore. She's been gone for a long time.

[After a beat, he sits, too. Not next to her or anything, and it's really more of a crouch so he can be up and out of there if needed, but it's weird to stand over her while she's on the floor.]

Doesn't matter, does it? Not if Anna's right about the... time travel she's always talking about.

No, I guess not.

[Rose contemplates that.]

I don't even know what she would want. Except maybe for me to be happier. Isn't that terrible?

She should have wanted more. She deserved better.

[How terrible, to serve the Diamonds your whole life!]

I couldn't do that.

[People talk a lot about deserving, about right and wrong. Therion doesn't know anything about any of that. He just stays there quietly for a while, watching the sea through the window.]

...Yeah. I don't think you could. [He sighs and shakes his head.] But I've been wrong before.

[Mmm. Well, what can she even say to that?]

It was all so long ago. If it were time travel...it might change everything. Some of my friends might not even exist.

[Pearl would never be made. And Garnet, Amethyst, the Earth...would it all have happened the same way if she never lost her?]

And that would stop you.

[It's not rhetorical sarcasm. He's fairly sure it would.]

It's not my place to decide who should exist or not. Or to make her responsible for that.

[She would never have wished for that to happen; it would just be a side-effect.]

You don't think she'd want to live? To... make you happier, or whatever.

Of course she would. But I don't think she'd want to destroy other Gems either...does that make sense?

[It's not as though she would be directly destroying them. But Rose would be upset if she found out she'd accidentally wiped a bunch of Pearl's dear friends from the timeline.]

[Quiet, he stands and pulls up his scarf.]

...I'm not the one you want to answer that question.

...no. But I can't talk to her.

Good people... don't want to live at the expense of others.

[He makes himself turn away.]
