WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[Nova still has not spent a significant amount of time in the waterpark and that's not gonna change today! She hates it, thanks! But she is mucking around in the arcade. She's not interested in actually playing any of the games, what she wants to know is if it's possible to open up the cases and see what's inside. She's not a huge electronics genius, but she can definitely identify parts that might be useful for . . . stuff. Things. Who knows what you might need a motherboard for!

She's also checking for, y'know. Weird stuff. There's weird stuff everywhere in this godforsaken place, apparently.

Anyway after all that she can be found in the woodworking lab. What's she doing? Making a chair. It does not look great, if we're being honest. It is very "high school student taking shop because it was the last available elective." Once she gets frustrated enough to stop, Nova heads over to the dining area where she's just. Shuffling the food on her plate around.]

[Therion doesn't say anything as he enters the workshop, sparing Nova only a nod. Once he's retrieved himself another couple rough log chunks, though, he slows to look at her work.]

Making... a table?

[He's not trying to be snide, he's just asking.]

It's supposed to be a chair. [It's very badly proportioned, so she doesn't take offense.] Seemed like it would be easy to make, but uh. I was wrong.

Don't we have enough chairs already?

[reallyhatesharks]

Yeah, but I want something taller to look at the ceilings. Probably should have gone with a ladder, huh?

[bolderfell]

Oh. I managed to reach the ceiling standing on the meeting room table, but a ladder might get you a closer look, yeah. ...Don't know how easy it is to build one, though.

See, I was just going to put the stool on the table to get to the ceiling. I don't know, this is really not my thing. I usually make things that you can kill a shark with.

[Technically, you can kill a shark with anything. A wooden stool is not her first choice for that, though.]

So, weapons? Spears, I'd imagine.

Explosives, actually. Although I did experiment with spears before realizing they were hard to use for long range attacks.

[And she also used to carry around a shotgun with a machete soldered to it.]

[Whistle.]

Are explosives that easy to make, in your world?

If you know the chemistry behind it. It seemed like a good idea to learn when it's the one thing that reliably gets rid of a sharknado.

[Anna picks at her chicken -- a normal amount, thankfully, not the entire bird this time -- and looks over to Nova.]

Oh, don't tell me you've gotten sick.

Nah. Just not hungry, I guess.

[She smiles, but it seems a little strained.]

It seems that motive's gotten to half the people in this deathtrap.

I don't actually care about the motive on a personal level. Gil invented time travel to get what he wants. He doesn't need any help getting what he wants.

[She huffs, a sound that could almost be a laugh. Half of her keeps expecting Gil to just show up and rescue her, honestly. That's not how time travel works, though.]

...What.

[reallyhatesharks]

My godson, Gil. [She pulls a photo from her pocket and slides it across the table.] He invented time travel to keep the world from ending.

[emberserker]

...that's a child. And your world doesn't have magic, does it? You're saying it's replicated with machines, like the Professor and Angel do?

[reallyhatesharks]

Technically we have magic? The time travel Gil invented when he was older is technological though.

[Like she said: she's not really concerned about Gil. He can get what he wants himself.]

I really hate your universe.

[Zerinda didn't have any concrete plans for doing something in the woodworking room, other than maybe practicing some wood carving now that she had a first aid kit, but she smiles brightly when she sees Nova working away on...whatever it is she's working on.]

That's a neat-looking... [Uhhh...] Stool?

That's what it's supposed to be at least. I should've gone with the ladder.

[It just seemed nice! Not that she thinks about George often anymore, but he did love his favorite stool.]

At least with a stool if it falls apart, it's a much lower fall than a ladder. [She comes closer and gives it a nudge with her foot, just to test if it'll fall apart.] It's not the worst chair attempt I've ever seen if that helps.

[It doesn't fall apart, but it does wobble ominously.]

Yeah, actually. It does. [She's 100% not a woodworker so.] Guess I should shelve my dreams of becoming a famous carpenter.

I know the feeling. A long time ago I had to give up on my lifelong dream of becoming a hair brush. It was a hard day for six year old Zaza. [She grins, wrinkling her nose at Nova. Don't be too hard on yourself. I'd call the fact it's still standing a win.
