WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[Another Monday, another sign being put up on the wall in the lounge.

Otherwise, he's not exactly around a whole lot, though he does end up in the workshop again for quite a while due to the machine spitting out more things he can add to the abomination he's got going on. At this point it's a lot of jutting limbs and seven heads all placed in areas around the peripheral edges where heads probably shouldn't be; what is ostensibly the torso is just kind of a mass, with thinner, shattered wooden pieces stabbing outward from the center of the chest in a way that's almost reminiscent of fangs, albeit at the wrong angle entirely.

It's fuckawful, but as always, it's something to do with himself and not much more than that.]

[Anna passes by the door with a few fancy red cushions in her arms, but stops and just. Stares at the monstrosity.]

Art, I presume.

I'm sure someone would consider it that. It's primarily just sort of awful, though.

Not really. It's just something to do with myself that isn't just dwelling on things.

I suppose. I've been keeping myself busy with more useful things, but using machine prizes as materials is something I'll admit has value.

So is there a reason you've been painfully and obviously weird during the trials lately, or...?

[ Okay, she's seen some truly unsightly fusions over the last two months, and been a component of one herself, but this. This is radically unpleasant, and somehow every time she returns to the workshop it manages to get worse? ]

Did you get all of those from the machine.

Absolutely. This thing is going to have at least six more heads by the time I'm done with it today.

It's hideous. [ She states this as an objective truth, partially because she figures his response could easily just be "yes, it is." ] But so is the raw material.

Oh, exactly. And besides, I'm already not the most artistically-inclined, so whatever I make is going to be some sort of abomination unto God. Might as well use the ugly things.

If it was always going to be bad, then what's the point of this? [ ... ] Training?

[ She knows humans can get stronger by training, now, to which her response is still Sounds Fake But Okay Sure, so maybe they can get better at... construction? with practice too. It seems like a waste of time to her, but everything here is a waste of time. ]

Venting frustration with the lack of things to do, I guess.

I don't have a lot of patience for most of the rooms around here, and I don't fight or do a lot of physical stuff, so the gym is out.

No idea. Maybe I'll figure it out eventually. Until then, I'm just making things.

I've been making things, too! I found a kit where you sew with big needles.

It's a lot easier.

...I'm not sure if that's knitting or crochet. One big needle at a time, or two?

It was two. There were some patterns in there, too, or I'm sure I wouldn't make much more than a big pile of yarn!

I know there are a few other fibercrafting things that people do for fun. I know there's macrame, which doesn't involve needles at all, but I think we'd need rope for that.
