WEEK 4

Another trial, another week, and still you're probably running lower on answers than you'd like. And on people - you lost three since last Sunday. By the end of this week, you'll have been here for nearly a full month, yet still the days crawl on.

You wake up Sunday, again with no memory of Saturday, but this time with a simple message on your devices: You may resume requesting items, if you like. Enjoy. Guess it really was just a stealth motive after all, but at least it's being communicated that it's over! That's something, at least.

And when you leave your rooms on Sunday, there's another new area to explore! This one is... certainly more ambitious in its construction than the last one, to say the least. But hey, you have a pretty neat place to host parties, if you feel so inclined! That's... fun...

Hey, you gotta find the fun in situations like this where you can! Silver linings, right?

[ That sucked for a few reasons, huh?

It's time to try and relax or- or at least to get her mind off a few things. So, she's checking out the water park after changing into a quaint duck swimsuit and...well, kind of frowning at the walls, seriously why do they all have to be portals to the horrible fishy world around them, but you know, it's fine. It's fine. There's something else a little interesting she has with her, and it's...

Well. If she sees anyone else with a swimsuit on, she's just going to quietly raise it and wordlessly drench them with a Super Soaker.

That aside, the water park isn't really doing it for her, so Della's going to spend her time in the arcade. There's no Legends of Legend Quest, but she's been known to play a few different games in her time, so. Della's flitting about from game to game, not really settling on anything. A little DDR here, a little Time Crisis there... She's had to pull up a box to see the arcade cabinet properly, but here she is, poking her way about the whole place, trying to distract herself. Kind of idly sighing: ]

Huey would probably love this place.

[ And...while winding down for the night, at the dining hall, she's actually taking a look at the Bible+ copies she's gotten, because she just started tossing those aside after awhile but...she's curious, alright? And in one of them she finds something surprising enough that she chokes on her dinner, for a moment. ]

Seriously? I'm not complaining, but... A coffee shop, that's... Oh, huh...

[ ...And she's going to be absorbed in some Les Miserables fanfiction for awhile, because that's just what life is like, I suppose. ]

[Anna isn't wearing the provided swimsuit, rather, one of the wetsuits from the machine. She's immediately hit square in the face, sputters, and takes a deep breath.]

What is your problem? What gives you the right to do that, are you five?

Sorry! I was aiming for your arm, I swear, I just over-corrected!

I don't care where you were aiming! I didn't sign up for a water gun fight, even if you think it's fun.

Really? I thought everyone enjoyed a good water fight at the park.

I will never understand you people and your idea of making fun out of a deathtrap.

We have to do something to get the edge off, every once in a while, or we'll go crazy.

It's probably too late for most of these people.

You know what I mean. If we're thinking constantly about how bad everything can be, then we aren't going to be able to pick ourselves back up. You need some levity, even in horrible situations.

Lucas was the nerd, not me. [She shrugs.] I don't really do the, like. Thinking about fixing plot holes and arguing with people on Twitter thing.

Pshhh, insulting! [ She shakes her head. ] You ever really, really like a movie, or a book, or something, but you want something to go different? Or you like those characters, but wanna pop 'em in, oh, say...a cafe? That's fanfic. Like... Like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!

I don't read a lot of it, but it's an occasional pleasure.

Not really? Gonna be honest, it's kind of hard to care about plot holes or whatever when your real life is about as absurd as the bad writing in The Last Jedi.

[Lucas cared a lot about that stuff, but Nova hold everything to the standard of her actual life and mostly just shrugs.]

[ Oh, so of all the dumb stupid puns in her world, STAR WARS is the fucking same?! ]

[ Zelos sits on the handrest of the DDR machine, having probably watched her do a couple songs at some point. Luckily picking up these kinds of games is fairly intuitive for him, but watching others is just as enjoyable, honestly. ]

[ Oh! Well, Della turns around. She hadn't actually noticed him there. Hah. ]

Quiet as a mouse, aren't you? [ She wipes the sweat from her brow. Ducks can sweat, huh! ] Yeah, one of them. He's... He likes facts. Scouting activities. We recently bonded over video games.

Only when I want to be! Which isn't often. [ Wink. ]

Sounds a smart kid. [ He was gonna say a nerd, but he's suddenly learnt the ability to think he speaks. For right now. ] So you have more than the one, then?

[ Smart, not calling a woman's son a nerd, to her face. Good job Zelos. Anyway, she fights rolling her eyes. ]

That's right. He's got two brothers. They're triplets. My three boys.

Sounds like they're pretty well taken care of, with you as their mother.

It just seems like a large compliment, from someone who only knows one of their names.
