What I want to hear on nights I can't sleep is your voice
[ ... Well, that was an absolute shitshow, wasn't it? Instead of dwelling on how she feels about everything that just happened, Mira's channeling that energy into something else--and she has a little bit of help doing it. Zerinda and Ema are here in the bar to make drinks, and Mira's brought in a ton of food that's definitely not healthy for anyone, but screw it, who cares about health right now?
Della's here to pass out invitations, too--they let everyone know there's a gathering in the bar, if they'd rather not be alone.
If you choose not to come, well... Mira's got that taken care of, too. She'll place a little container of cookies and hot cocoa outside your door. Maybe it'll help someone feel a little less alone--at least, that's what she's hoping. ]

[I mean, what can she say?]

[On like, several levels. Though if she's ashamed, well...it's not really of that.
And this question sucks, because here's the thing: Rose Quartz, the benevolent leader of the Crystal Gems, doesn't hate Pink Diamond. Of course not. She never wanted to shatter anyone; it was simply a tragic necessity. That's what she told Garnet and the others, and what Garnet may still tell others one day.
But Rose does hate Pink Diamond.]
I wish it could have gone differently. I begged her to leave the Earth in peace - but she wouldn't listen. She just laughed at me.

Why would you try? Wouldn't she just find it insulting? Trying to make peace with someone whose way you're standing in, telling them they shouldn't try.
no subject
[She'd never have found it insulting. Rose's ideas were only ever silly or foolish; they never mattered enough to be insulting.]

[No. Stop that, Anna, you're projecting again, it's not like that did any good last time. She settles for moving the glass and glaring at the ice cubes.]
...well, it's more important to some people than others.

[What is actually going on with you? You're a human, she would think you'd be less of a massive fan of your whole species getting destroyed by imperialist aliens.]
She could have gone and colonized some other planet, if she wanted to that badly. There's lots of them that don't support life.
no subject
[Because Rose very reasonably seems to think it is.]
It's about having someone want to be all happy friends with you after taking everything of yours and telling you it's a favour. I'm only saying that of course she'd be unhappy.

[okay, yeesh]
I just wanted her to leave us all alone.

Anna bristles.]
Sometimes it's necessary. I suppose it would hurt even more to see that kind of overture. But what happened happened, anyway.

[jeez, what's with all the Diamond fangirls up in here? none of them would have even liked her if they met her.]
But you're right. It's over now.

Until a certain loudmouth bbrings it up. I'm sure she will at every opportunity.

[Rose guesses she doesn't actually know if Jasper said anything to anyone else one-on-one before now? But a public shouting match is really what she expected all along, and nobody ever asked her about it...]
That's just how Homeworld Gems think. You're an organic being - of course she's right and you're wrong.

It is very interesting. Like if our gems could generate a real, organic body instead of just light.

[There's more sensible ways to go about studying biology than a whole-ass murdergame.]

[That's what she yells at him about being in trials, anyway.]
Does that have to do with the murder part, too?

[Yeah, she's used to that.]
Maybe that'll let us get a leg up, sometime.
