What I want to hear on nights I can't sleep is your voice
[ ... Well, that was an absolute shitshow, wasn't it? Instead of dwelling on how she feels about everything that just happened, Mira's channeling that energy into something else--and she has a little bit of help doing it. Zerinda and Ema are here in the bar to make drinks, and Mira's brought in a ton of food that's definitely not healthy for anyone, but screw it, who cares about health right now?
Della's here to pass out invitations, too--they let everyone know there's a gathering in the bar, if they'd rather not be alone.
If you choose not to come, well... Mira's got that taken care of, too. She'll place a little container of cookies and hot cocoa outside your door. Maybe it'll help someone feel a little less alone--at least, that's what she's hoping. ]

Mostly. We mostly agree on that.
[ANYWAY...]
Jasper kind of mentioned that sort of concept to me at one point. About how people are just created to have a specific purpose where you're all from. I can see where you wouldn't like that sort of thing very much, at least.

[......after a moment, she smiles again.]
Pearl always loved taking down Homeworld soldiers who underestimated her.

What about Garnet, what's she like?
no subject
[which she will never directly say to garnet ever bc she has to be The Great Rose Quartz, but]
She's a fusion, and she stays permanently fused because that's how Ruby and Sapphire express their love for each other. It's so romantic...every time I've fused with her, the feeling is incredible.

[He's trying to find a way to not have to ask if you guys are just having gem threeways all over the place or what here.]
no subject
[look I can't tell you that Rose hasn't participated in a gem threeway, but]
On Homeworld it's only permitted for soldiers to fuse for battle, and only among the same type of Gem. I've never fused with another Rose Quartz - [for SO MANY REASONS] - but Ruby says it's different like that. Maybe because their resonance is all so similar. That's why they all wanted to shatter Garnet so badly. [well, those first bits are, the rest was just a bit of a tangent]

[god this is like asking about homestuck]

It's not allowed at all - but also, they do. Sapphires are rare gems, aristocrats. Rubies are common footsoldiers. They're considered disposable; Blue Diamond meant to shatter Ruby for their fusion, and keep Sapphire for herself.

That's...how you kill Gems, right? Shattering. I'm assuming it's what it sounds like.
[Bodies are made of light, so you have to break the rock. Something like that.]

[we could talk about how it kinda seems that gem shards retain some sort of agonized fractured consciousness and are incapable of rest or peace ever
but let's not!]
no subject
I'm not going to try to make you talk about it or anything, because it's none of my business. But I'm not going to be mad at you for it or suspicious of you or anything. All right?
no subject
[She doesn't really want to talk about it. She never does. But at the same time...back home, there's no Homeworld gems to go around telling all the humans what an evil monster she is.]
I never wanted to shatter anybody. It was a last resort.
no subject
[He doesn't sound disbelieving, at least.]
I really have a hard time seeing you doing something like that as anything but a last resort.
no subject
[She sounds like she's trying to convince herself, more than Birkin.]
no subject
[Just...just saying.]
You've seen and done a lot, but you still came out of it giving a damn about things. A lot of people wouldn't. That probably says something.
no subject
[You don't gotta think it, she's way ahead of you! But, uh, we don't gotta talk about that.]
I don't usually tell people about that. It was all so long ago...I've thought I might tell Greg, though.
no subject
[...Anyway.]
So what's Greg like? I don't think you've told me about him.
no subject
no subject
That's... You must really mean a lot to him, then.
no subject
[It doesn't seem quite right. But there it is.]
I was afraid it would only end up hurting him. I guess maybe I still am, a little...but he seems so happy right now.
no subject
[He honestly doesn't judge one way or another; that's kind of a complicated thing.]
no subject
[She twirls a lock of hair around her finger, thoughtful.]
He's not like anybody else I've ever met before. We just...talk about things.

no subject
[geez, how did she not know that?]
How is it different?
