WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

For all of them, huh. Not just the ones that didn't try to kill us.

I think...that even though they did try to kill all of us, getting forgotten is worse than dying itself. When you're forgotten it's like you never existed nor meant anything.

[It's a depressing thought, really]

I don't want to let that happen.

[Therion goes pretty quiet for some time after that. Eventually, he sighs through his nose.]

Well, I won't stop you. [He shakes his head.] But some of the others might take more issue than me.

Maybe they will. But it's a risk I have to take. Shelley Endeavour Winters doesn't stop just because other people won't like what she does!

Is "Endeavor" really part of your name.

It is. The records state it. Fitting, isn't it?

Suppose so. I don't know what you people need all these names for.

Does that mean you're only called Therion? No second name, no last name?

[True, the profiles only show 'Therion', but maybe it just lacked that information. They sure didn't put her middle name there!]

Just the one, yeah. If I ever had others, I don't remember them now.

What about the nickname in your profile? That sounds a lot like it could be a last name.

The what? ...The title he assigned me? [Huff.] I don't even know what that means, besides the obvious.

I don't know either, but all titles seem to have some sort of relation. They're not random things. Something about you must have made him think that word.

[Or maybe she's overthinking it and Therion just dodges a lot. Who knows]

[I mean, he does. Evasion is his highest stat! But also, if Shelley's ever read any Dickens...]

It's probably something stupid like Rin's. I'm better off not knowing.

[I'm pretty sure she must have read it in high school, that's for certain. Being an A+ student, she really must have. Whether she still remembers it is up for grabs, haha]

...you're not wrong there. The Professor is the worst.

He never pretended he had benevolent intentions. That's all I'll say for him.

Taat's true. Better for him to make clear he cares nothing about us than he making pals with us and then backstabbing.

[Oh, big oof. Therion stiffens, then pulls his scarf up, glowering at nothing in particular and everything in general.]

Yeah. [He sounds much bitterer than he did even a moment ago.] I appreciate the honesty.
