WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to Week 5! Remember to turn in AC here, threads for regain coins here, and if you feel so inclined you can visit Angel's office hours over here! Or, if you want Angel to come to you, that's now an option! Simply put a prompt after lights-out into your toplevel and indicate you want Angel in the subject line, same as investigations! ]

The museum was interesting, but I do think it could benefit from more in the way of science exhibits. The fossils are certainly an interesting bunch, though...if they're real, they're quite the specimens.

[ Though she doesn't have the know-how to be able to see if they're real or fake. ]

I think the aquarium is nicer, but I've had just about my fill of fish, if we're being candid. So I spent a bit of time in the garden, instead...
emberserker: Slightly unnerving smile. (zero likelihood of anything good)

I'm not talking about the educational value. The aim is the same as everything else: giving us ways to kill one another and showing off valuable stolen goods. But there are a few very unique things about that wing, aren't there?

[Anna approaches, ignoring the game cabinets. Slowly, as she speaks, she seems to shift from vaguely annoyed to almost manic.]

That is, it's the only wing with no windows to the outside. But that isn't all, is there? There's no public washroom, which every wing's had, and more importantly! More importantly, no obvious gap for another wing to graft onto in a week's time! What do you make of any of that?

It's true, there are some inconsistencies in the layout. It's not set up like corridors with rooms attached, except for that tiny one above the garden....

[ Definitely good observations, there! She's ignore that she's getting a little...into it. She keeps rotating her Tetris piece, just so it doesn't lock in place... ]

If you look at the map, there's really only one place where it could extend, right? Just that place behind the gate in the museum...maybe there's stairs there?
emberserker: Arrogant glare. (i'm the greatest)

It's very possible. Or there could be something above or below that's hidden.

I did manage to find something in the garden, when I was poking around in there...

[ Though, at the thought of it, she seems to lose focus on her game. ]

I don't quite know who happens to be leaving hints and whatnot around here, but I'm starting to think they're less like a Bond villain and more like the Riddler.
emberserker: Slight blush, confident smirk. (fufufu)

We don't know yet, but we will. And if it isn't the Professor, there's the question of whether it's really his ally.

I wonder about that, myself. I can't imagine that he'd put up a recording of himself like that for us to find, for example. And there's no question that some of the things we've found have been helpful, so maybe I'm just a little biased towards this idea I have in my head that he wouldn't act against his own interest...
emberserker: Anna sitting like she's on a throne. (now all i need is a treasure)

And it's not Angel, she's completely clueless. Either some of the other staff are both sympathetic and more competent, or this could all be left behind from the last group. After all, we know now this isn't even the first full run of this place.

Definitely not an encouraging thought, but I was leaning towards that theory, as well. I suppose there's no way of knowing for sure until we have more information, and I don't want to get too stuck in my own head just speculating, but for now, the most we can do is poke around and see what other clues we could find. The notes are all in that weird handwriting. Maybe if we put them all together once we have enough, they could be some kind of clue...
emberserker: Creepy reassurance. (trust me (do not))

[personal profile] emberserker 2020-05-05 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. They must all be hidden somewhere, and this place is a puzzle to be solved, isn't it?

That's definitely a more productive way of thinking about it than anything else. Hopefully the rest of us found some good stuff between the last meeting and now, too. The more easily we can put our heads together, the better off we'll be.
