WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

... It's sort of a mess, I'll warn you. But the implications of it are--

That's what I thought. Something struck me as strange, though... there's a case that had just this in it. [ And she'll pull out the photo of that horrible mask. ] I don't know why someone would take this in particular, but...

...Why leave anything at all, if they took the mask? Some sort of taunt, or...?

Maybe... going off of the idea that we aren't the first people to go through this, maybe the person it belonged to took it as they left?

[ She puts the photo back in her notepad, because she absolutely hates looking at it!! ]

There aren't even any sort of... indicators to tell us who these objects belonged to, though...

[ Which isn't surprising, but it sure is frustrating. ]

...I don't think these things necessarily belonged to the people here.

Why show people their own stuff? It seems more likely to me that it all belonged to people the last set cared about.

But that-- that does make more sense. [ Wow! She hates it! ] Whoever took the mask took it to return back to its owner, then. I've never seen a mask quite like that, though.

[ Basically, what kind of person would have something like that? ]

I don't know if we want to try asking Angel about it. There's no way she and the Professor don't know we're aware this is here by now, but I'm not sure how much she'd know about previous runs.

I did consider asking her, but...
