WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

Well- I mean, I guess you do try very hard to irritate people, but. Let's be honest, William, Rin had a bit of a point. You're very good at irritating people into giving up their secrets.

Exactly! Exactly, it's...a necessary tactic, to not have restraint when our lives are riding on it.

I'd imagine it's fairly obvious why I'm not here to play around with that sort of thing.

It's gotten us results, anyway. At least I didn't have to do it this last time around.

[ Thinking about the trial feels less fun and jokey, so she sighs. ]

Small miracles. We had someone else to say obscene things.

Here's hoping we've all calmed down a bit. I'm not really looking forward to Tuesday, as usual, but hopefully it'll be less...that than it was last week.

...We can only hope. I...said I'd try and keep the peace, with...you know. Rhea. I'm not really pleased with her. But, we can't have everyone sniping at each other. However...warranted some of it is.

Please. If I were interested in going after her, I would do it even if you told me not to, just because I'm not crazy about being told what to do and it's not like any of you can do too much about it.

But I've got better things to do, and it's not like she even registers within the framework of those better things. So it doesn't really matter to me either way.

Oh, I have no reservations about you know, making you do something. I told her I'd try, but she has to sit the hell down and cooperate first.

Yeah, I got a letter from Seteth pretty much telling me to be patient with her. Which is another thing I'm not too inclined to listen to. As far as I'm concerned, she made her bed and she can lie in it.

Oof, to you...? Oh, Seteth... That...was probably one of his less thought out choices. [ like not to speak ill of the dead, but ]

There are a few worse people he could have addressed that to.

He left it to me because we'd discussed Rhea before, actually.

You did? What did you talk to him about? Her behavior at one of the trials...?

Her behavior at both of the trials we'd had so far, yeah. She tended to be an obstructing, derailing piece of work and I told him as much. We didn't talk about her much, just a bit; I also asked him some stuff about the age on his profile, and we sort of focused on that after a while.

...There was so much more to talk with him about. He seemed wise, in his own way. [ She sighs. ] All of this... It really is a waste.

I don't know. It's one of those things that I don't let myself think about too long. It starts to piss me off, and you guys don't need me getting like that.

The temper thing, huh? ...Yeah, I've been trying to keep mine, uh...you know. On the down-low too.

I'm pretty useless when I'm messed up. Temper or otherwise. It gets to my head and I can't really make myself do anything.

I don't really like being like that. All despondent and stuff. You guys need me to actually be useful, and I don't have Al or Annette to make me get myself together.
