WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

[Rhea's not doing well but at least she's moving and (usually) not talking to herself. She's alive and hates it but, well. Time to see what Zelos so graciously gave them all, that coward.

The first place she goes is the museum. Interesting place, that. She glances in every section until she reaches the fossils. Then very loudly:] Professor! This is beyond anything you have done! You are truly the most disgusting human I have ever met!

[Then she storms out of the museum. Something about giant lizard-like skeletons just seems very mocking right now.

After a few moments Rhea looks around the garden. There sure are some poisonous plants there! But also? Lilies... or rather, there were lilies until she picks most of them. Then she takes said flowers to the sewing room where each bouquet gets it's own somber ribbon. These are then taken to the water park and laid somewhat close to the pool but not close enough where someone could accidentally splash them.

Later she stops by the chapel and takes not only the symbol of Cichol but also the symbol of Cethleann. She takes them back to the pool and places them among the lily bouquets. Rhea probably stays here for the rest of the day. She partially is quiet and partially talks to herself.]

You.. always preferred the present, did you not? [She is, after all, doing better but not much.]

[ Vincent had heard that, as he was standing right outside of the museum.

What had the Professor done now? ]

He has remains being displayed in there!

[She points in the direction of the fossil room.]

[valentinus]

[ He'll frown ]

Does he? It's not of people who died here, is it?

[archboxer]

Thankfully, no... I do not know if they were creatures or people but...

[Dinosaurs.]

[ Oh, you ]

It isn't unusual for museums to hold old fossils or mock-up skeletons of animals or different life that used to be.

But if it was anything different, then...

[ ... ]

Do...you have places like this back in your world?

[archboxer]

There are those that collect old relics or documents but... no, nothing like that.

[She pauses, then sighs.]

I dislike keeping even animal remains.

[valentinus]

...So it was a shock to you to see something like that, then.

[ He did remember the trial and what had been revealed during the midst of it all. As someone who was a "Dragon", it could've been an unpleasant sight in retrospect, he guessed. ]

Yes. Perhaps it is not the most vile thing he has done, given I do not know if those remains belong to an animal but it still is rather...

[Well. Unpleasant seeing them right after one of her kind was murdered.]

[ Just as he thought, then. ]

A reminder of a fresh wound...I understand.

Yes. Likely if we had seen this earlier my reaction would not have been so... extreme.

Water park

[bolderfell]

[Rhea's talking to flowers. Okay. All right. Therion wavers, really considers just walking back out and saving the question for later, but finally sighs.]

Rhea. I want to ask something about Seteth, if you're all right answering.

[archboxer]

[At least she's talking to something and not just herself? She stops when she hears his voice.]

Ah? I suppose I can answer.

Was he close to the Professor at all? In any way? Did they even ever talk?

[archboxer]

As far as I know, not at all. If they talked it was just when the man was talking with all of us.

[bolderfell]

[... x2 combo. Therion holds his chin in his hand and stares at the surface of the pool.]

Same with the rest of the staff? I know he talked to someone in the kitchen once, but besides that...?

As far as I know, that is the case. May I ask why?

[... She doesn't like this, Therion. She smells a scheme.]

[bolderfell]

[He's not scheming! Gods, you spend your entire life engaging in criminal pursuits and suddenly everyone thinks you're a sneaky bastard.]

...I guess you weren't in any frame of mind to notice. [He says that gently enough and shakes his head.] The Professor was... acting strange during the investigation and trial the other day.

[archboxer]

[She's a schemer herself. It's in her nature, it's not personal. That gets her attention, though.]

Wait... you are correct, I was not paying attention to him. Yet now that I think about it he was not as caustic as usual.

[bolderfell]

[Come on, does he look like Claude to you, Rhea.]

He called Seteth by name.

[She had been quite distraught at the time and--]

I... cannot believe I missed that.

[bolderfell]

Ema and I both noticed it when he... announced the death. He did it again at the start of the trial. The weeks before, he only ever used those damn titles.

[archboxer]

That seems like a sudden change... I cannot say he favored Seteth in particular. In fact it probably would have been beneficial to him if Seteth or I died. For him to act in this manner...

Why would one of your deaths have helped him? In particular, that is.

[archboxer]

Our bones, our flesh, even our muscles do not degrade as Ema can admit to. This makes them excellent weapon materials. Our blood is laced with magic and our Crest Stones can power the weapons made. For a man like the Professor that would prove valuable; if not to himself then to his colleagues or patrons.
