WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

I'm sure she'd do it as long as it meant her own survival.

[But, you know. There's already been several situations where one person's survival and the group's were at odds.]

Mm...you're probably right, but that seems a bit more easily said than done.

[ Frustrating, but...well, maybe they can get a bit more creative with integrating her? ]

I was...so worried she would do something this week. After how she acted on Tuesday...

I think a lot of us were worried, about a lot of people. None of us took that sitting down. Even I was...well, I wasn't as collected as I usually like to be.

I would've been worse, though, if I didn't talk to people about it. So I know that's what worked for me, at least.

I actually did talk about that one a little.

[She says like that's unusual, because it absolutely is, she never opens up to anybody.]

With Therion. I don't know why he always tries so hard to act like he's cruel.

This is just between us, but I think he comes from a place that wasn't particularly kind.

[ He seemed particularly shocked at the idea that there's a system in place that helps people argue for their innocence. And the way he talks about being a thief, as though it's some kind of scarlet letter... ]

He's only like that because he feels like he has to be. But at the same time, he's a compassionate person. The kind who won't ignore you, if you're hurting.

That's what I think, too.

[The latter, anyway. The former...well, no Gem comes from somewhere kind, but the mission statement of the Crystal Gems probably didn't appeal to any Gems who felt that way. Maybe that's another failing of hers
