WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

[ Well, it's about to be eleven puppets, at least. It's an abomination, but it is extremely creative, so credit where credit is due? ]

You're just making it up as you go? Or is there a method to the madness?

I started because I'd gotten five of those marionettes and I figured I might as well do something with them, and since then I've just been building it from there. It's mostly just whatever I feel like doing that day. Some things look more right than others.

Have you come up with a backstory for him yet?

I mean, if you're going this far, he has to have some kind of story to his life.

Oh, I'm not exactly the most creative mind, myself! But just look at him. You don't think he has a certain...je ne sais quoi?

I'd be lying if I said I was going to take this thing with me as some sort of hellish souvenir, but for the time being I'm pretty attached.

Oh, don't get me wrong, he's terrifying! If it was in my room, it wouldn't see the light of day. But I do think that, as a scientific anomaly, he's a fascinating little thing.

Should it be a mundane name, or something more unique? I can't imagine something that walking around with a name like, I don't know, Steve.

I think that depends on who we decide named him, doesn't it? Whether he's a natural creature to wherever he came from, or if he was created by man. ...Or created by duck, I guess; let's not leave Della out of things.

If he was created by man, he'd have more of a code-name, right? Like some kind of classified title, of a military project kept hidden in a secret warehouse...like, "Arachnophobia," or something ominous like that.

I just went with mine because of all of the arms, but you've clearly got more of a knack for this!

Most of the projects my lab works on have boring classifications. T-103, Ne-1, G-201, stuff like that. You would not believe the morbid games we play while waiting for samples to mature. "What is the coolest possible thing we can name this if it causes a damn pandemic" is one of them.

G-class was mine, incidentally. The Professor felt the need to note it in that title he gave me, it's pretty cute. I can't even be mad.

Ah, right, Prodi-G...maybe he does have a thing for puns, after all.

[ Well, it's not so much a pun as it is cheeky joke-- ]

So yours was Golgotha, then? [ Kind of interesting that he'd choose a biblical one; for some reason, that seems a little off-brand... ] Maybe we should come up with another G-name, then. "Genesis"? Mm, no, that's a little cliché...and it strikes me as more masculine, so I don't think "Gorgon" would fit, either...

Oh, oh, maybe "Guilt"?
