WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

I was doing some digging around in the garden before. Literally, but I'll get to that in a second. I found some Morse code that told me to press the button for the birdsong twelve times. When I did, a bottle fell in the pond with this note in it. You guys take a look.

[ In that red handwriting we've all come to love:

I DECIDE WHEN ALL MeN DIE

[Yessssss. Time to add that to his copy of all the weird red messages they've found:

And starts crossing a few letters out.]

Seeing some kind of a pattern in there, Therion?

[ Mind if she snoops a bit? She's been curious about this-- ]

Not a pattern, but...

[That second row now reads, 'n v n r a o l g a e d.' He keeps writing.

'angel or vand'
'angel and orv'

He growls and puts his pen down, sitting back to push one hand through his hair.]

Damn. I don't know. Maybe I want to see connections that aren't there.

It's not a bad way of tackling it. Look for something that might make sense to see, and then work from there, but...

[ She shakes her head. ]

We don't have all of the clues just yet. As of right now, there are just too many variables to start playing Hangman. But we're getting there. Might just take a bit more patience and one or two more notes before we can crack this code. Otherwise, we really can't know for sure. Too many possible combinations...

[ She whips out her own pen and starts crossing out letters:

'danger nvoal' ]

Better not see another "o" and a "c" around here.

Hells. I forgot about that. Just one more layer to the death trap after another...

Progress is progress. And I think we're getting somewhere. We'll just have to keep our eyes peeled and work from there. Of course, knowing just how many letters we're after in total, or how many words the result will be...that'd be a huge boon. But this is a good start.

[ She pats his shoulder. ]

Nice eye.
