WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

Energy? Not as far as I know. I know of tech that analyzes someone's emotional response based on the sound of their voice...I've heard of it being used in court, actually, to aid in cross-examination. But it sounds pretty different from the kind of tech you're talking about.

Yeah, not quite like that. We were talking about curses, and I mentioned that sometimes they form on their own when enough hatred and despair happens in one place.

Is this a technology, or some kind of... totem? I'm asking because curses are still supernatural, and the supernatural seems totally suppressed here.

Sort of both. From what I've been told, this is essentially only the key to unlock a complex machine that you know. Destroys the world.

It... could theoretically be possible. Crest stones can react to strong emotions so a similar technology would not be impossible.

Both you and Clarke are saying react instead of absorb, but... I think you're right to say that if one is possible, so is the other. That makes it an option worth keeping on the table, since we haven't found much to say one way or the other.

The technology or magic or both behind it is not something I could recreate. It could be true, if I am honest, that they absorb emotions and memories as well. So someone to derive a technology based on it is within a realm of possibility.
