WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ ooc: Welcome to Week 5! Remember to turn in AC here, threads for regain coins here, and if you feel so inclined you can visit Angel's office hours over here! Or, if you want Angel to come to you, that's now an option! Simply put a prompt after lights-out into your toplevel and indicate you want Angel in the subject line, same as investigations! ]

I may but as I was told, I must work with the others here. I cannot do that staying in my room.

[Gah.]

Terribly unfortunate, but the circumstances do seem to call for cooperation.

Yes, they do. I suppose you still have questions?

[Now that we're not in trial?]
blackmass: (you're sick of feeling numb)

Oh, I don't really care.

[returning to tending some alarming-looking flowers]

What if I do?

[Hey! Hey 'Mister Humanity is God's Good work'!]

Then those are your questions to ask, are they not?

What would your order say about my kind?

Well, most likely we would call you some manner of Phantasmal or Divine Beast. My superiors in the Burial Agency do count a wide range of inhumans among them, to be sure. Such existence in itself does on rare occasion prove useful to the destruction of evil.

Is that so? I would think that it would go against what it stood for.

Then you misunderstand the code of those who destroy demons. To follow the Eighth Sacrament is simple: it permits those who assemble in its name to stray from the rules of the doctrine so long as the name and will of God is preserved.

Such is why we who act as the Assembly's front lines are called Executors: we execute the will of God, no matter the blood that must be shed to do so.

[That sounds far too much like the Church of Seiros for comfort.]

Would it be safe to say that those who originally designed this code were humans or were these immortals involved?

To my knowledge, the founders of the Burial Agency were both mortal.

[At the time.]

But I do not know from who or where the Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament itself originates; whether it was with those founders, or elsewhere.

It strikes me odd that the founders were mortal.
