WEEK 5

That's three murders now - and this last trial got more than slightly out of hand. It looks like you might be in for another tough week... or at least, maybe that's just the refusal of this place to change too much. You lose Saturday again, but maybe six-day weeks are starting to feel normal by now. Who knows? The cycle of day and night continues apace, changing so little.

Speaking of change, though, there's a new area to look through, the biggest and most complex yet. And the end of one wing of the facility, from the looks of it - though you can probably guess where more areas might start to open up.

And speaking of opening up (segues!), this week if you're out particularly late, you might sometimes see Angel out and about! So hey, maybe change is on the horizon.

Just gotta hope it's a change for the better, don't you?

It's been awhile. But, I don't consider it to be just a sad memory.

[ So...in the end it's fine, as far as he's concerned. ]

[ She starts to say lucky you, but for once in her stupid life she stuffs it. ]

I guess that's the benefit of time. You get perspective on things.

[ He'll look up at her properly now. ]

Speaking of time, how much do you believe we have?

What, don't believe the Professor when he says this is indefinite?

[ Her tone is a little snide. Rest assured, it's not directed at Vincent! ]

[ He could almost smile at the tone of mockery he detected there. He seemed to at least understand to whom she directed it to, really.

But... ]

It's hard to believe when we ourselves don't have infinite lives.

Well, most of us, anyway. [ She's not so sure about Jasper and Rose, but... ] So I guess that just leaves the question of whether you think there's a hidden time limit before the Professor calls the whole thing a wash, or if there's something else you think is on the horizon.

[ He'll pause, thinking on that a little. ]

Nothing lasts forever.

That doesn't really answer my question, but I'll be nice and answer yours.

I think we still have longer than I'd like. It's a game of endurance, and the Professor doesn't have much to endure, wherever he's sitting pretty.

Endurance...maybe that was a better way of putting it. He'll look down on his book. ]

You're right in that he doesn't have much to endure.

Yeah, for now. The trouble is that, from the looks of things, even if we do make trouble for him, it's not going to keep him down forever.
