WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[ooc: Welcome to Week 6! If you want Angel or to try your hand at the ouija, please make sure to note in your toplevel, same as an investigation! AC is over here, regains are here, and, well...

You've all got a new app on your devices! Use it wisely. ]
bolderfell: Let's not talk about that. <user name="hashagi" site="tumblr.com"> (ASIDE 🗡️ Anyway...)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. [He breathes out.] Didn't want to open it accidentally without you there.

[He adds in a lower, muttering voice:] Never thought I'd have to worry about keeping something closed.
ladygeryon: (grin)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-12 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's a good idea. A lot of my team can be a little rowdy. [She turns it so that she's using the proper Pokeball-holding pose, before turning and pressing the button. In a flash of red light, a monkey-like creature appears, looking around in confusion.]

Wu Kong! [He spins around, brow still furrowed before relaxing slightly upon seeing her. He gestures at the room around them before pointing at Therion.]

Ape?

It's a long story, but...we were separated for a while. Therion here found your Pokeball and brought you back to me.

[Wu Kong listens, and pauses, before putting his hands together and offering Therion a brief bow.]

Prim. [He certainly sounds grateful about it.]
bolderfell: 3... 2... 1... <user name="hashagi" site="tumblr.com"> (POP 🗡️ Uh.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-12 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
...Uh. Yeah. Don't mention it.

[He can't figure out if Pokémon look too big or too small to him. They're definitely too weird. Mannerisms so close to human--Linde never bows to anyone. She just yawns and tries to get pets.]

Why's it--he--she? [He's also never going to figure out Pokémon sexes. He quickly gives up, shakes his head, and addresses Wu Kong directly.] Why do you have...

[After a pause, he lifts his own arm and gestures to his wrist in illustration. Why do you look like you've got shackles on, bruh?]
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-12 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Wu Kong's a he. Though Pokemon don't mind "it" if you're unsure about one's gender.

[Wu Kong seems pleased to be addressed directly, lifting an arm to make a fist and pump it up and down.]

They appeared when he evolved from a Mankey. It's basically a sign of his increased strength-pretty much all Primeape have them.
bolderfell: What do you mean, you can't tell it's bedhead? <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (MUSS 🗡️ Too early for this.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-12 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
A sign of strength...?

[Therion's arm vanishes under his cloak once more. He's not sure what to make of that. His band, after all, is a mark of shame.]

I wouldn't have thought. Though, uh. You do look very strong.

[Staying on the good side of anything that punches harder than you is a policy to live by.]
ladygeryon: (grin)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-12 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wu Kong grins at the compliment, flexing again.]

He is! We used to be sparring partners when he was a Mankey, but after he evolved I couldn't keep up with him barehanded anymore.
bolderfell: Cool. Not my problem. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (NOTICE 🗡️ Any trouble?)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-12 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Evolved?]

That's what you were talking about before. Taking on a different form once you're strong enough. Does that happen to everything in your world?
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-13 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, humans don't really do that. Unless you count the ones who gain Types, but even they don't really do it in the same way evolving Pokemon do. No glowing or anything.

[She pats Aria on the head.] And not all Pokemon evolve-Aria's one of those, and half my team doesn't, actually. Some of them also need specific items or circumstances to evolve, not just gaining strength.
bolderfell: Clap if you believe in fair things. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (SOFT 🗡️ Believing in people...)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-13 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
...Is it always better, to change? Does it ever happen for a bad reason?
ladygeryon: (intense stare)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-13 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...sometimes it doesn't happen properly, it's true. Like my old teammate Vern's Steelix-usually Onix evolve into Steelix when exposed to a Metal Coat, but instead he evolved while we were trapped in an underground tunnel and the pressure on his stone body forced him into evolving into a Steel-type. [It happened a while ago, but thinking back on it is still somewhat scary.] He was in a bad way for a while after that until we got a local expert to take a look at him and fix him up.

And more generally, there are some Pokemon who prefer staying in smaller forms, so they can more easily be spoiled by their Trainers, or sometimes because there are techniques they can only learn in their earlier stages. There's even some Trainers who specialize in training Pokemon that aren't fully-evolved.
bolderfell: There, there. But also, go OVER there. Bye. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (SQUEEZE 🗡️ Get off already.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-14 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Therion folds his arms under his cloak. Just imagining it, the crushing pressure of earth and stone on one's body like iron on an anvil... It doesn't bear thinking about.]

I don't think I could do it, glowing or not. I've had over twenty years to get used to this body. Don't need it changing drastically on me.
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-14 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[She didn't even mention the giant metal ants they were being attacked by at that point.]

I mean, that's valid. Most people don't go that direction of changing their Type, and not even every Elementalist tries to fully embody their Type for various reasons.
bolderfell: I would've put my apple down. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (SURE 🗡️ Yeah yeah.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-14 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's what's going on with your... that is, the stone you have. [He gestures at his own neck and shoulder.] It's your element. Your Type?
ladygeryon: (time to summon my sword)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-14 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[She nods.] Yeah, I'm a Rock-type. Like Terrakion himself, basically, and it's due to my own connection to him. Comes with not being able to swim, but I was never one for that in the first place so I don't miss it much.
bolderfell: Gimme that hot, juicy goss. <user name="nappotuna" site="tumblr.com"> (LISTEN 🗡️ Dropping some eaves.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-14 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. That almost makes sense to me. Never did get the hang of any spells but fire.
ladygeryon: (smile)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-14 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's a rare talent that can control two Types equally well. I do know some Fighting-type techniques, but they're mostly the kind any martial artist can learn, not the Aura techniques that are considered much rarer.
bolderfell: Maybe you're all talk. <user name="phlavours" site="tumblr.com"> (TALK 🗡️ Just party banter.)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-14 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You said humans get their Types somehow, right? You're not born with it.
ladygeryon: (proud mother)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-14 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
They're not, no. Though sometimes they can be born with a natural ability to use elemental Moves, so far I haven't heard of any humans born with actual Type resistances or weaknesses. It takes dedicated work to actually gain the full effects of having a Type.
bolderfell: Everything is up. You're all so damn tall. <user name="bottleshark" site="tumblr.com"> (HMM? 🗡️ What's up Doc?)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-14 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
So what made you do it?
ladygeryon: (preparing for a fight)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-15 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
It was mostly the connection with Terrakion, which first deepened when I received a mission from him. That was when I first started being able to use Rock-type moves, but...I didn't resist the connection. I wanted to be able to have that similarity with my patron. So when we were facing the enemy he'd tasked me to confront...I finally accepted it wholeheartedly, and became...this. [She waves a hand over one of her arms as she says it.]
bolderfell: There's a saying? Never heard it. <user name="hashagi" site="tumblr.com"> (CURIOUS 🗡️ What about cats?)

[personal profile] bolderfell 2020-05-15 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
...You don't regret it. Do you?
ladygeryon: (grin)

[personal profile] ladygeryon 2020-05-15 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Never for a moment. [That actually gets a bit of a grin.] Very few people do-it's not really something you can do by mistake. [There are some people who are surprised to learn about their new Type connection, but they're never really disappointed or upset.]
