WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

[...OKAY, SO. MOTIVE BAD! Motive very fucking bad. Birkin retreats to his room for a while before the meeting happens, since he has a couple of hours in which to do that, but he's back in the lounge as scheduled, looking goddamn pissed but at least he's here.

Again, he's more clipped than usual, but at least he's here.]

All right. Another week. New area. What do we have.

[Rose enters with a pretty concerned look towards Birkin. A lot of people were upset in there, but that kind of reaction from him of all people was particularly unnerving. She has at least enough sense not to bring it up here in front of God and everyone, though.]

...here, I brought some cookies.

[They're just from the cook, not homemade in the new kitchen, but at least it kinda feels like contributing? Gonna just set those out.]

honestly, as much as birkin is generally hesitant to take food he didn't see made in front of him, it probably says something when he's willing to take some of these. but damn if he's not going to anyway.]

Anyone who as much as set foot in the new area can guess what happened there without all the hints I found. There was an accident there. The plates of metal are keeping out the ocean, most of the furniture's new and the rest is refinished--it was flooded out. Bet even those cameras are there because whatever they were using before stopped working. So that's probably what's left of the "Subject Beta situation."

In the meantime, I've been looking into how those coins get into our rooms. I'm no Ema, but...

[He lays a piece of paper on the nearest table. On it, he's sketched what looks like an adult's boot print.]

So there's a person leaving them... or a ghost. I suppose those would be able to affect the living world somewhat.

They must be sneaky, if it is a person. I've tried to see if anybody's leaving those before.

[Since she's up at night and all. Rose is willing to accept that she's not really the perfect sentry, but - come on, she'd notice if someone was just casually waltzing around, right?]

I've never heard of a ghost leaving footprints. Or using a door. Mine was definitely opened without waking me.

I found this in an older Monopoly game. [Nira presents a vending machine coin with a diamond on it.] I figured we'd want to record it before I tried putting it in to see if we get anything.

Seems pretty likely. It's a bit lighter too, despite being the same thickness-might be made of something completely different.

Well, Della's here with a bunch of notes. Just. Like. A bunch of notes. She'll pass them around, detailing her adventure in the library. ]

Found the key for that compartment. It's not a compartment. It's a secret passage. A bit tight for...well, Rose and Jasper, really, but...there's another door. I...hope it's still unlocked, but there's everything I found in it. I... this is probably the most important part.

I couldn't tell if there were cameras down there but they definitely know I went in
It's definitely the woman we saw who executed Nova, I recognized the sword

I haven't talked with Angel about this yet but given some of the things I saw I think this "Failsafe" knows her
Speaking of Angel, she remembers her past now
When I asked before, Angel said she hasn't met the "Failsafe" but her memories of meeting the Professor are fuzzy now and she has gaps
That mask Mira found belonged to someone Angel knew who didn't sound that great
Considering the training dummy I think it's safe to say: the "Failsafe" knows Angel

I think they were involved in a previous experiment

...So that's a lot to digest. ]

I can lead anyone there who's interested, though I can't guarantee you'd be able to find anything.

Checked the infirmary over. After being sent on a jolly little scavenger hunt by someone with a stupid sense of humor, I found another clipboard. Because my luck is just like that and whatever place I look over is going to make me read.

[lyndon i love your puzzles even if birkin does not. he doesn't get to have an opinion that matters.

Either way, he's brought the thing with him.]

Anyway. I think someone brought up the notion of gathering emotional energy or something last time.

Looks like they might not have been wrong.

So there was a previous Failsafe already... [She's assuming it's not that Cass is trans, since apparently her and Angel were part of a previous group together.]

So it is that. He needs suffering, but it isn't just for sadism. It's fuel.

...Alternating togetherness and isolation... is that why we're only supposed to sleep in our rooms?

I searched the kitchen. The oven had a bit of... buildup? From use, nothing too recent but it was definitely used.

The cabinets had... no brand name items, but had this solid black hexagon. I took pictures, if you'd like to see, and then-- do you remember that odd symbol from the chapel? It was in the cabinet. [ Which she'll show, except-- she's drawn it on the letter she's found. She'll pass that around. ] Along with a small compartment, with candy bars inside.

Finally, the refrigerator did have brand-name items, which is... strange, if just for the inconsistency.

Wait, that hexagon... [Nira holds out the coin she found.] It looks the same, doesn't it? Also, could you take a few photos of this as well? I want to see if it gives anything special eventually, but I wanted a record of it first.

[Zerinda hasn't been especially chatty this meeting, just like with the other ones. She's been sitting mostly quietly, nervously bouncing her knees while...some kind of odd giant lizard with no teeth lays at her feed and cracks bones between it's jaws. She listens to everyone give what they'd found before hurriedly scribbling something down on a scrap of paper and passes it off:
