WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

[He looks at the assortment on the floor. Some of them are 2,000 Hours of Free Internet disks, but the one he picks up happens to be The Clash at Demonhead. Thankfully. Somehow, he puts it in the right way up, closes the lid, and finds the power button--that one he recognizes, too.]

The sideways triangle, that large one on the front. Stop is the square underneath.

[She seems... distracted, but honestly, that's probably everyone in here today.]

[Click. He sits back on his heels as the kick drum and electric guitar come in, tense, thumping backdrop to Envy Adams' purr of a voice. After a moment, he glances over at Anna. After another, he risks speaking up.]

Worse than usual, huh?

What do you think? Of course it is.

[bolderfell]

What was it?

I'd rather not disclose, all right? He could well be lying to us anyway. I -- I shouldn't think about it.

[bolderfell]

...All right, but... "I shouldn't think about it" never works for me, at least.

Will it help? I sincerely doubt it. And I'm sure whatever you got wasn't pleasant, either.

[bolderfell]

Haven't opened it yet. I'm sure you're right, though.

[emberserker]

If everyone was taken before something terrible, maybe...

[Annaclenches her fists at her sides and tries to breathe.]

...Well, that aside. You know the AOL discs aren't music, right? They're these archaic things people used to be mailed decades ago when internet was new. In short, they're junk.

I didn't understand a word of that and you know it. You want me to drop something, just say.

Fine.

[She says, looking away and grabbing one of the workout machine's bars in a way that suggests that if she could break it, she would.]

The past few motives weren't that harsh in comparison. That's all.

[bolderfell]

[She doesn't want to talk about it, so Therion says nothing more, for a while. He sits on the floor and holds a straight-legged stretch, pondering.]

...Think he's targeting you?

What, like Alice? I doubt it. You saw how many people that motive got.

[bolderfell]

Maybe he's targeting the lot of you. Hard to say whether he's always singling out someone specific or stirring up his likeliest bets.

[emberserker]

Oh, probably the latter. I doubt anyone isn't going to be bothered, unless their life is completely perfect.

[bolderfell]

Yeah. A handful of us didn't look, or they at least saved it until they were alone. But I think this is the worst the whole group's ever been after one of these promises. I just...

I wouldn't want it to be you this week. That's all.

[emberserker]

[Anna turns that over for a moment, quietly listening to the CD echo in the room.]

I'm sure we'll get out of here. There's no way we won't.

[bolderfell]

It's starting to fall apart on him. Just have to wait for the right moment to strike.

[emberserker]

...That's right, of course. Something's gone wrong for him, hasn't it? He'd never have shown his failsafe otherwise.

[bolderfell]

Exactly. And once he and his people are dealt with, there's nothing stopping anyone from using his technology to their own ends. If you think you need to.

[emberserker]

[And something seems... tense, but Anna's clearly thinking about it before she gives a slow, quiet smile.]

You've thought about this a great deal, haven't you?

[bolderfell]

At least since he showed us that chest of gold, yeah.

It's good for everyone to be thinking about ways to get out of here. Of course, we've no idea what became of that first group, save, well...

[bolderfell]

The first group... the ones with Greek letters, you mean?
