WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

[Well, nostalgia probably isn't the right word, she's really not that into thinking about White of all people.]

How do you mean?

[bolderfell]

No one sees him. Even through the television, he never shows himself. We hear about all these things he can do, but he's provided little enough proof; don't even have proof he's one person.

[lovelikeyou]

I guess there's no real reason to think he is.

[There's the voice, but Rose is familiar enough with technology and also the fact that all Gems of a certain type have really similar voices to not...really consider that definitive.]

Just the profile, but that's just something he wrote himself. [or...whatever] What would the point of that be?

There are too many reasons to list for someone to hide who they are. At the very least, though, I think there are two people behind that screen. Or he had someone stand in for him at one point.

Do you think anybody here knows who either of them are?

[As far as Rose is concerned, the Professor being one random human isn't that different than him being another. It isn't as if they could identify him if they ever saw him either way.]

[bolderfell]

...Maybe.

[After a pause, he lifts a hand.]

Zelos's trial. Did you notice anything strange about the Professor then?

[lovelikeyou]

Yes. Rin and I talked about it, a little. She thought he might have..."mommy issues".

[Rin explained it, but from the way Rose says the phrase, she still doesn't quite get it.]

[bolderfell]

That's... one explanation for it. [He may not know the phrase, but he can kind of guess at its meaning. Rin...] But Ema and I heard something before even that. He--or whoever was using his voice--called Seteth by name. Twice.

Oh, that is strange. So you think that was somebody else, that time?

[bolderfell]

Yeah, I do. Hearing him return to how he usually speaks only makes me more sure of it. The way he was talking when Nova's execution went pear-shaped, though... I'm not sure if that was someone else or if his mask is slipping.

[lovelikeyou]

That seems like it could go either way. It was...surprising.

[She wouldn't be surprised if the Professor just lost his composure a bit over that whole thing.]

[bolderfell]

That's one word for it. I was traveling with a scholar before I came here. A professor himself, actually. Don't think I ever heard him say anything like "whatever," even at his most upset.

[lovelikeyou]

I've never really met a professor before. Do they not normally talk like that?

[bolderfell]

In my experience, they use as many words as they possibly can, the longest words they possibly can. The less likely common man is to understand what they're going on about, the more they natter on about it. How else would they show off how educated and superior they are?

[lovelikeyou]

...but they're teachers, aren't they? How can you teach someone if they can't understand you?

[bolderfell]

I ask myself that every day.

[lovelikeyou]

[Rose laughs.]

Well, I guess I should go walk around a little more. But I might watch Aladdin again later tonight, if you're still awake!

...Hm. I'll think about it.
