WEEK 6

Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

[Nira shows up after the cart-flipping, and watches him organize for a while.]

Need any help with that? [She's moving to put the cart back upright anyways.]

No.

[It's tense, and it's cold, and there's something in it that isn't usually there. Either way, he doesn't seem particularly well; he doesn't move to look at Nira any, he just focuses on the task at hand; he doesn't seem bothered by Nira doing stuff with the cart, that's fine, as long as he isn't approached directly.]

Alright. [She lets him work while she starts putting everything that was on the cart back on it, slowly.] I'll put this back in the corner, then. [She's moving it to one of the corners further from where he's working.]

[He appreciates this, in some way - that she's not trying to push him, that she's doing stuff but working around him and telling him what she's doing. Makes him less jumpy, anyway, albeit no less agitated.]

...I'll be able to focus more. Once this godforsaken week is over.

I understand. [She pushes the cart back into a corner, coiling up the various electrical lines so hopefully no one will trip on them.] There's nothing particularly urgent to handle here anyways, right? [At least, not currently.]

Not right now.

[He's still keeping his eyes on the scalpels, but he seems to be breathing a bit easier, at least.]

If that changes, I want to know, though. I'm not going to be useless.

I think you've been quite helpful so far. You've pretty much always been the one to bring us together for these meetings, after all.

...I'm pretty invested in getting us out of here alive. I don't like the idea of doing nothing; I'm doing what I can.

I know. [A sigh.] Is the x-ray machine still acting up with those weird results?

I've requested more film for it, so we'll see when that comes in. It hasn't done anything painfully weird on its own, at least.

Good to know. I'm holding on to that coin for a little bit more in case we can actually get something from it.

Hopefully we will, or at least we can figure out what the design means.

Yeah. At least we've got a record of everywhere it's shown up so far now.

Yeah. It's not anything I'm familiar with, though I guess it could just be a generic thing. If we start seeing octagons in alternating red and white, I know what that is; black hexagons are new to me.

Alternating red and white? You mean like tesselated tiles, or kind of like an archery target but octagon-shaped?

The former. More dartboard than archery.

Ah, I think I get it. That's the logo from your old workplace, I'm guessing?

Yeah. There's stuff from them in the machine, I've gotten a few canisters of it.

[ladygeryon]

I see. Anything here other than the sharks remind you of that place, then?

The whole thing, really. People on powertrips are kind of the same no matter where you are, or how special they want to believe themselves to be.

Mm. I guess the biggest difference would be the kind of resources they have access to.
