Another week, another three lost - and this time all to one murder case. And that's to say nothing of the execution, or whatever went on with that ouija board that still sits in the library... strange things are afoot in the facility, and some of them not even your captor seems fully equipped to explain.

The other of the two doors in the main living area finally opens after another lost Saturday, and what lies beyond is... strange, to say the least. Looks like there's no shortage of changes, even in the architecture. It certainly seems like you should have gotten something like this before the water park at the very least, don't you think?

Angel's still out and about at night, if you want to be found. And who knows what else you might find if you're out alone? Apparently, you might have a ghost on your hands.

[That stops him cold in his tracks.]

...Right. That fits. But still.

[He faces Della and spreads one arm from his side.]

Why. The Assistant's job--getting us things, watching the facility, answering questions--is any of that so essential to getting what he wants? If it's some kind of emotional balancing act between him and the Assistant, there's no way he could expect us to suddenly trust a stranger in her place, not one we saw kill one of us. Especially if Angel were gone.

[When he lowers his hand, it's a fist, too.]

So what else is he using her for. That's what we need to find out.

I don't know. I don't know, and it's driving me crazy.

[ She grits her teeth, but--no. Center, Della. Center. ]

At the start of this, I thought...she was a deluded kid, jumping into something she couldn't understand. I was... I was angry at her. At how much I saw myself in her. But now... [ She shakes her head. Center. ] Angel's being used, just as much...or maybe even more than the rest of us. It... It has to have something to do with...with how he could just take control of her. Those tattoos, maybe.

Maybe. So can he do the same to the Failsafe? Damn it... Is that what he's planning to do with us, eventually?

...I wouldn't rule it out. He thinks of us as resources. Does he seem the type to waste those?

Not in the least. And we still don't know what's happening to us during the day we're missing--what they could be doing to us. Rrrgh.

[He pinches the bridge of his nose.]

...You said Angel remembers more every week, right? Is--is it something gradual, throughout the week, or...

[Is it like something's added to her or unlocked, like the wings of the facility?]

From what I can tell, it has to do with it being triggered. But- but, she remembers all her past now. It all just came back when she saw that creep's mask. And now... That's why she's questioning why some things feel...more vague.

Right. Then... maybe we should be less careful what we say about the Professor in our meetings. She watches those, so anything we find might help her remember more about whatever he did to her.

[He pauses.]

Probably won't be pleasant, but... at this point, knowing more's going to be to her advantage, too. And it helps us in the long run.

I... Maybe. Each week, I've been going in and sharing things with her, so she knows whatever we don't talk about. I just worry about...you know, the Professor knowing that she knows. ...Does that make- so he won't feel like she's...not useful anymore.

...You're right. I only...

[His gaze lands on the tiles.]

I've been worried about that since the first time he pushed us to kill. I'm afraid that... he made his decision about her before any of this even started, and it's just a matter of time.

...She's living on borrowed time.

[ It's something Della clearly hasn't wanted to think about, but--well. Maybe we gotta. ]

You...really care for her. [ She breathes out. ] I'm glad...because it means together we can put our heads together and do something.

[Della. He shifts uncomfortably--'you really care for her'--but manages to hold his tongue about it and keep from bristling too much.]

If you find anyone who doesn't know about the bathrooms yet, tell them. I've slipped it into the meetings a couple times, but I can't ensure everyone reads everything I write. [Grumble.] That's the annoying thing about relying on letters.

In the meantime... we'll tell each other anything else we find out. Make sure we get on the same page. I'm curious about the new players cropping up--"Ghostworth," the Failsafe, people like that. You want to continue looking out for Angel?

[ Sorry- sorry, crossing a few boundaries, she raises her hands in a wordless apology. ]

I do. I... I think she deserves the chance to live her own life.

...At the very least, nobody deserves to live at his beck and call. I can agree with that much.

...I understand being frustrated with her. I was, at the start. I just want her to be able to make her own decisions.

[Dellllaaaaa. He squirms some more, then sighs.]

I'm not frustrated with her.

[Can't a guy tsuntsun without everyone asking about the dere?]

I never was. What you said about her reminding you of yourself... [He waves a hand, shakes his head.] Yeah.

[ LOOK, SHE'S LEARNED HER LESSON ABOUT PRESUMING HOW PEOPLE FEEL, ALRIGHT, SHE'S TRYING TO BE RESPECTFUL!!!

But- okay. Okay, she...is kind of getting that a bit more, and-- ]

...Huh. Really, that just made me mad at her. To think about...all the things I'd done wrong. But... Yeah, I can see that.

[He quickly amends his statement.]

Maybe she doesn't remind me of myself so much as... circumstances I've been in. Back when she never came out of that office, I thought...

[He trails off, then clears his throat loudly.]

Doesn't much matter what I thought. Point is, I went in trying to find out more, and it was clear pretty fast she was here to be used and thrown away. Not a big fan of that.

[ Della watches him carefully and...she nods, and lets out a small sigh. ]

Me neither. I thought this was a choice she made, but...it's not. None of it has been.

No. She's not at fault for any of this.

[He studies the floor tile for a while, working the worn-down wool of his scarf between his fingers.]

And despite everything, she's still willing to put her trust in others. If she can do that, then...

[The sentence hangs like that for a while--quite long enough to show Therion has no idea how to finish it.]

[ ... ]

Then, we'll do everything we can for her.

[ She's...not going to push him again. But, the gentle tone of her voice should say something. ]

[It's all he can do, after a moment, to nod.]

Yeah. Guess we will.
