[It gives everyone an hour or two to settle down from the investigation and trial. By 6 on the dot the tables in the lounge are packed with miscellaneous vending machine snacks, a large pot of a thick and warm white stew, a plate stacked with biscuits and cupcakes. So many cupcakes. Mira has been coping well with her stress.

There's also several bottles of wine, hot coffee and hot chocolate waiting for anyone thirsty.

Looking for bullets. [ Vincent's room did have one of the DEATH boxes, though who can say how much ammo is left inside. She shakes it in Therion's direction so he knows what she means. ] Guns are pretty worthless unless you have ammo.

[Ah. His eyebrows rise in recognition.]

Got big plans for them?

Not particularly. But... Like the explosives, if things come down to it, I want to know what resources we have available.

[He considers that for a moment, then nods.]

[He goes into his room. When he comes back out, not only does he have a box of the same gun ammo, but he's carrying this beauty for her. You know. In case she needs another gun.]

H- How many guns was that thing hiding?! This is the fourth one I've seen...!

[ Still, she takes it when she reaches forward to get the box of ammo, because what else is she going to do, really? ]

Maybe I should be teaching you guys how to use these... At this point, I have more than I can possibly carry at one time.

Wouldn't mind learning, but you were right about me. I do best with knives or swords.

The trouble is that I don't think there's a safe place to practice here... Plus, we need to conserve the ammo we have. I'll have to see if I can figure something out.

Your arcade game's no good for even the basics?

I guess it'd teach you how to point and shoot, but it's like you said about toy guns, you know? The thing you're holding in your hand isn't nearly as heavy as the genuine article. Plus, there's a lot more to shooting a real gun. Recoil, reload, even just being aware of whether or not you have the safety engaged... I guess you could learn trigger discipline that way, at least.

Not sure what most of that is. What's a "safety?"

Think of it like a lock on a door. A gun fires when pressure is placed on its trigger, and the safety is there to keep it from firing by accident for as long as it's engaged.

Ah. Since you can't unstring a gun the way you unstring a bow. That makes sense.

You know, maybe this is the kind of thing you should consider teaching Mira or Zerinda, if it comes to it. I may not look it, but I prefer to fight up close. Easier to rob people that way.

Maybe... I was thinking you're sneaky enough to be a good sniper, but fair enough. If I'm going to do that, though, first I need to figure out if there's a safe way to fire off live rounds in here.

It the kind of thing where they'd be in more danger from themselves than from others if they're not trained right?

Pretty much. Though, honestly, the people in the most danger would be us. You might shoot yourself in the foot by accident if you don't know how to handle a gun, but that's still a lot better than accidentally shooting a friend someplace more vital.
