COMMENCE VOYAGE
Fun Fact: Did you know the Atlantic Ocean has a surface area of 41.1 million square miles? No reason.
...
There's something uneasy in the air as you come to.
Well, "come to" is an interesting word in this case. It implies waking up, which is not exactly what happens. None of you are in beds, nor are you really asleep in the traditional sense. One moment you're somewhere else, doing something else with your time, and the next? You're somewhere on board a massive cruise ship - maybe lounging on a deck chair by the pool, maybe getting some Gains in the exercise room, maybe enjoying the tasteful décor in the buffet - and you have no idea how you got here or how you might get back. This is not your beautiful house. If you have a beautiful wife, she isn't here.
What you do have, apart from 25 other unlucky souls, is a small smartphone-like device in your pocket with only a handful of things on it: a clock reading 11PM, a pdf of a ticket in your name on a special Atlantic Liners New Year's Eve Cruise, an app labeled Passenger Profiles with some basic information on your traveling companions, and a message:
Welcome aboard, passenger! Please feel free to partake of any of the facilities while you wait for the big event! Remember: when midnight comes, you better make your way to the theatre at the back of Level 1 for the main event! The Captain and the First Mate will be there to take care of you all personally, and to help you ring in the new year in style!
Well, that's a start. But what you do until then, it seems, is up to you!

gym;
[ That, in of itself, was an eyebrow raising worthy comment. ]

[ HEY didn't see you there... He rubs his head. ]
Yeah, sort of...? I mean, there were a few times recently where I blacked out and then found myself doing something I didn't remember, or in a place I didn't remember going to. [ Looking around the room a bit... ] I'd usually at least recognize what the place was, though, so...
[ This seems a little different.
...Actually, how did this guy even know what the "like this" was? ]
Wait, why did you ask that? Do you not remember how you got here either?
no subject
Though this time wasn't actually really intentional. That being said, Decus' commentary did make him give an eyebrow raise. He'll put it to the side momentarily to answer the question directed his way, however. ]
No, I don't. I believe I've been brought here against my will.
Do you know what or who had been causing you to black out in the situations you've described? It could still be related.
no subject
[ Not sure if having someone else in a similar position is a relief or if that makes it more concerning!! Anyway, he nods. ]
It was a side effect of this... item I was using. I don't think it should be able to affect anyone anymore, though, even if I still had it. And I'm pretty sure that wouldn't explain how you ended up in the same situation.
no subject
[ So he considered that it unlikely at this point in time. Unless their captors found a way to reactivate its ability and mass produce it. ]
That said, what was the last thing you remember before waking up here?
no subject
[ He actually pauses for a second to think about that next question, because he'd just kind of reacted automatically without considering the logistics of how the hell he would have gone from there to here. ]
Before this... I was in a fight with this group we've gone up against a few times. It was in a place that wouldn't have been easy to get to, so it's really weird that I could have ended up somewhere else like this... but Alice was there with me, so if I'm here, then she should be too!
[ By that logic, Marta and Emil and everyone should be here too, but eh. ]
no subject
Alright, not really, but all of them attempting to suss out details surrounding their abduction should prove to reveal...something. Only time would tell if it was useful, though. ]
A reasonable presumption.
[ At this time he hadn't seen the profiles so they'll find out if Decus was right or not soon enough. ]
What kind of place were you in, exactly? Unfortunately, where I was before could've easily been reached, since it was by the cliffs nearby the sea.
no subject
[ He has kind of a fuzzy recollection of Ratatosk blowing him through some kind of rift in space at one point, though, so he guesses that could have been a way to do it, maybe?? But if that's the case, then Alice... ]
—Look, I've got to find her and make sure she's safe, I can think about all the rest of this later!!
no subject
Unless they had a certain kind of power.
[ But wherever that thought would lead wasn't voiced. Partly because the younger male's getting stir crazy about finding his beloved. ]
Then don't just stand around. [ He'll start to head towards the exit of the gym. ] In addition to looking for your friend, it wouldn't hurt to become familiar with your surroundings.
no subject
Yeah, I know. But if I don't find her, then nothing else matters anyway.
no subject
Why is that?
[ He did a particularly good job of simply sounding inquisitive, but really, he had to wonder why he would consider it essentially the end of the world if he couldn't find her... ]
no subject
If I somehow left her behind when I ended up here... [ Then he left her alone against Marta and Emil and their monsters, and while he really doesn't want to think about how that likely would have ended at that point... ] I pledged my life to her a long time ago, so there's only a reason for me to exist in the world if she's there too.
no subject
That said, it's also commendable to have that sort of loyalty. He wondered how long it would last, or if it would truly benefit him in the end, however. ]
Interesting. I assume you had a good reason to.
Not many would devote their entire lives to the existence of one person, after all.
