There's something uneasy in the air as you come to.
Well, "come to" is an interesting word in this case. It implies waking up, which is not exactly what happens. None of you are in beds, nor are you really asleep in the traditional sense. One moment you're somewhere else, doing something else with your time, and the next? You're somewhere on board a massive cruise ship - maybe lounging on a deck chair by the pool, maybe getting some Gains in the exercise room, maybe enjoying the tasteful décor in the buffet - and you have no idea how you got here or how you might get back. This is not your beautiful house. If you have a beautiful wife, she isn't here.
What you do have, apart from 25 other unlucky souls, is a small smartphone-like device in your pocket with only a handful of things on it: a clock reading 11PM, a pdf of a ticket in your name on a special Atlantic Liners New Year's Eve Cruise, an app labeled Passenger Profiles with some basic information on your traveling companions, and a message:
Welcome aboard, passenger! Please feel free to partake of any of the facilities while you wait for the big event! Remember: when midnight comes, you better make your way to the theatre at the back of Level 1 for the main event! The Captain and the First Mate will be there to take care of you all personally, and to help you ring in the new year in style!
Well, that's a start. But what you do until then, it seems, is up to you!

Ehh, it's definitely not a proper invite -- they could mock up any old thing online and it would show up as whatever they want. I don't usually get hit by phishing stuff like that, though. Security is a thing?
[She'll just hold up the tablet and tap at it meaningfully. On it is displayed... the profiles, currently, but after a moment she glances at it and moves her fingers and it's now displaying the invite PDF. Not that it's all that readable at a distance, but it's the thought that counts.]
There's a different room that's all, Happy New Year's! So they don't even have their calendar right...
[She's going to shuffle closer to also stare at the shrimp, but it's more that her stomach is audibly rumbling at this point; it's a buffet so this amount actually seems pretty normal (and tempting) to her.]

[Although the words are pretty pointed, the tone itself is more curious and probing than anything. It's not like Freyja's all of her is an especially normal occurrence even in the bizarre world of Earth under the Gundam Fight, and possibly not even out of the world, either.
Even aside from the outfit, there's the horns, and... hmm.]
You some kind of idol or actress or... something? I don't think I've heard of you, either.
[Bingo. She's going to look back at the spread, shrug, and grab a plate -- might as well take advantage of the buffet now that she's here, and she's not nearly paranoid enough to starve herself. Also she really is hungry.]

[There's something wry about it?? As flippant as she is about all the titles and Freyja's entire schtick it's not like she's unfamiliar with Freyja, Norse Goddess of Love. Sometimes Space Scandinavia isn't entirely removed from not-Space Scandinavia, and all of that. There's sort of a thoughtful mumble as she samples all the shrimp... dishes...
Damn, is there tempura here. We're livin' large, there's like tempura and hors d'oeuvres and stuff. Do they make hors d'oeuvres with shrimp? They do now.]
Well, you're pretty dedicated to whatever it is you're doin', I'll give you that. I can believe that, though -- I mean, personally, I'm pretty hard to grab, too. Plus, this looks way more well put together than anything I've been a part of for like a year now.
[The Gundam Fight being the pinnacle of warfare doesn't really make it the pinnacle of luxury for most people, natch.]

[She doesn't seem to catch the drift of the objection, but Allenby does seem rather pleased somehow to have somebody sharing in the spoils (and hopefully not spoiled) of their impromptu journey across a mystery ocean. All things considered, what are hors d'oeuvre if not tiny, freeform sandwiches, and what are tiny, freeform sandwiches if not a great excuse to discuss the weather?*
*Clearly, there are storms brewing on the horizon here, but for the moment the shrimp keeps everything flowing smoothly.]
Tastes like shrimp to me, unless you don't eat shrimp. There's fish and cheese versions, too--
[Spoken with her mouth half-full, but at least she has the sense to cover it with her hand while she shuffles around the buffet.]
