So far, good news! You've managed to avoid killing! A week has passed in the facility, but how many more are there to go until one of you tries out Rule Seven? I mean.... we know, but.

No new areas just yet, it remains you guys and yours here for now. Well, and Angel, but again - you don't exactly see her unless you want to. It's more than a little lonely... maybe someone ought to shake things up.

Yes, just like Mira put on the sign. I haven't seen it since I was a child, but then, I've got more important things to do with my time.

So it's like a story for children...

Guess they'll catch the thief in the end, huh.

[emberserker]

It's a bit more complicated than that. The world's unfair to him, so he has to do these things to survive, and nobody wants to understand him for it.

[Doesn't seem like the type Miss I'm-Better-Than-You Rich Girl would understand much of either, which is probably why her reply sounds more curt than the words imply.]

That's how the story goes, anyway. After all, it's only started.

[bolderfell]

[Anna, what the fuck, stop assassinating him right in the heart!]

It--what, it's his story? He's the hero of it?

[emberserker]

That's what the old man says in the beginning, isn't it? Pay attention, will you.

[bolderfell]

I wasn't here.

[...But, after a moment, he sits with the rest of the audience.]

Guess if it's a children's story, it won't be that long.

[emberserker]

I suppose not. It's barely started anyway, so you haven't missed much.

[bolderfell]

Hm.

[A little later, he makes a disgusted noise.]

Like anyone who was really penniless would give a damn about a couple of pauper kids. In the real world, they'd have jumped him for the bread. Called their gang over.

[emberserker]

Aren't criminals supposed to cooperate with one another?

[bolderfell]

[He's very quiet for a moment.]

Only the foolish ones.

[emberserker]

[Anna scoffs, but looks back at the screen and keeps watching. When the reprise starts, Aladdin singing sadly to his view of the castle he wishes he lived in, she turns away, too.]

...well, it's a story.

[bolderfell]

[Shrug. That scene leaves him pensive, too. He continues watching quietly for a while with only one more annoyed noise when boy meets girl. Ugh.

It's when Jafar starts sweet-talking Aladdin in the dungeon--when Aladdin falls for it--that Therion sucks in a breath and recoils.]

[emberserker]

[Anna wasn't having much fun with this one either, but she takes note of Therion's reaction and files it away in Stuff That Probably Doesn't Matter Right Now.]

At least this isn't turning out as poorly as I thought. Will someone pass the peppers?

[Therion hands her the whole plate of vegetables and hunches into his cloak and scarf.]

How old is he supposed to be. Fifteen? Sixteen?

Oh, probably. I'm not sure how old, they don't state it, but I'm sure someone out there knows. Film trivia is an industry at this point. It's never been much of an interest of mine.

[Anna starts munching on peppers like they're some non-painful vegetable you can easily eat a ton of.]

[bolderfell]

[Nothing any of you eat makes sense to Therion. Except Aela. She's all right.]

Ridiculous. Someone as naive and trusting as him never would have lived that long.

You take umbrage with that and not the talking monkey. I suppose it makes sense, though. I wouldn't know.

[bolderfell]

If ducks and rocks talk in real life, why not monkeys in a children's tale?

[emberserker]

I suppose so, even if it is ridiculous. Apparently "real life" encompasses anything these days.

[bolderfell]

Not like the monkey really talks, anyway. If he did, he'd make far less trustworthy a partner.

[emberserker]

That's true, it's barely speech. He's clearly intelligent, though... just stupid.

[bolderfell]

...Which, again. Makes him ideal.
