So far, good news! You've managed to avoid killing! A week has passed in the facility, but how many more are there to go until one of you tries out Rule Seven? I mean.... we know, but.

No new areas just yet, it remains you guys and yours here for now. Well, and Angel, but again - you don't exactly see her unless you want to. It's more than a little lonely... maybe someone ought to shake things up.

Scriptures often seem ridiculous without context. This is.. interesting. [Wait, what was that? She flips to the back and--] Somehow I cannot believe this section belongs. Why is it listing foods?

[hardnosed]

That's what all of those are?

[ even taking into account her very limited experience, some of them don't even sound like food! she absolutely thought a buffalo blast was some kind of weapon... ]

[She's taking a closer look at the lists. Is it--? Rhea doesn't recognize all of the items but certain terms she picks up makes her think it's food.]

From what I can recognize, it looks like the menu at a dining hall or a restaurant. These dishes have rather strange names... why would anyone put this in here?

[hardnosed]

Maybe they use it in their ceremonies.

[ You know, the holy Communion of Tex-Mex eggrolls. Thankfully there's no pictures of the restaurant itself, because she'd immediately assume it was some kind of temple! It makes complete sense. ]

I can't think of any other reason it would be here. Do you recognize any of them?

Perhaps...

[She's not sure, honestly, but it might be easier just to agree. There's no point to argue.]

Some of the names, yes. [What in the name of the goddess is 'guacamole?'] There. 'Crispy Fried Cheese'. I have not had such a meal but I can understand how one could prepare it just by the name. There are other references to ingredients in these names.

[hardnosed]

Crispy fried cheese...

[ She just... repeats it under her breath with mild distaste, like it's of the deepest importance that she commit these words to memory. ]

"Cheese" comes up again and again. It must be important somehow.

Cheese is a common food that often is used to enhance a dish.

[hardnosed]

... Like cakes. [ Welp, she guesses that's a food, then. ] So those are so crucial to their existence they put it in their name. And there's a whole section on it full of earth glyphs.

[ This is so stupid. Earth is so stupid. ]

Yes... apparently they are quite fascinated by it. [However, there is one thing she must ask.] Ah...

May I keep this?

[The answer from Jasper will likely be no but.] I will offer up to spar with you in exchange.

[hardnosed]

[ She does pause, considering, but in the end there's seriously no comparison between what Rhea's offering and what Rhea wants. ]

You sure about that?

[She wants the knowledge! Also she has nothing else that would interest Jasper.]

You did say to let you know when I have gotten back into shape.

[hardnosed]

I did.

[ Were she anyone else, she'd smile or something! But Jasper is incapable of viewing anything positively, so after the initial feeling of triumph she remembers that being excited to spar with Rhea, an ostensible human, is just a sign of how weak she's been made — and to be overt about that excitement would be to show that weakness flagrantly. So she shrugs, and grumbles: ]

Sure. It's not like it's any use to me.
