So far, good news! You've managed to avoid killing! A week has passed in the facility, but how many more are there to go until one of you tries out Rule Seven? I mean.... we know, but.

No new areas just yet, it remains you guys and yours here for now. Well, and Angel, but again - you don't exactly see her unless you want to. It's more than a little lonely... maybe someone ought to shake things up.

[ You know what doesn't give a shit about how horrible something is, and will just go right the fuck up to it to check it out and make friends?

The dog that is currently doing just that. Mira isn't far behind, but when she sees Daisy trying to get all up in the slug's business, she rushes over to pick up the corgi. ]

You shouldn't run off like that, you know... What if you'd gotten into trouble?

[Oh no, baby.

...The leech does not seem particularly pleased with this turn of events, but does not seem capable of doing much about it because it is in fact a simple organism that can't do much in general. It can, however, apparently slide a couple of inches further down toward the floor. All that progress undone. Sad.

That said, Birkin will absolutely look up to see whose dog this is, and it only follows a couple of seconds later that it's weird to have a dog in here at all? What the- ]

Is that yours? ...Did the Professor give it to you?

[ Yeah, it's sure fuckin' weird, ain't it.

Either way, she nods, holding the dog close... who's trying very hard to get to the curse of a creature. ]

She, um. Came out of the vending machine. [ She looks extremely disturbed as she says it, which like. Who can blame her. ] She's actually mine.

[Dog in the vending machine. Why not. At this point, why wouldn't there be a dog in the vending machine.]

I wouldn't let her eat that, incidentally. We're going to have a lot of problems on our hands if she does.

I... figured as much.

[ full offense my dude your pet is horrifying. does the dog care? absolutely not. ]

...It's a leech. The company I work for was running tests on them.

[which does not explain why it's huge, unholy and like that. or maybe it does, who knows.]

... And it was in the vending machine?

[It's just gonna go back to squelching up the glass wall, if nobody minds.]

It's not anything I would have wanted to be in there, but if it had to fall out at someone, at least it did it in my direction and not anyone else's.

That's.... fair enough. I wouldn't have known what to do with it.

[ Still. She steps just a tiny bit away from the thing. ]

If the Professor can take things like test subjects... I don't like thinking about what else he could take and bring here.

...I admit I'm more than slightly bothered by there being living things at all in there.

... I am as well. It's one thing to have things like my cell phone in there, but...

[ She looks down at her dog, who's given up on making friends with the slug. ]

At least they don't seem to be hurt.

[The slug is still oozing its way up the wall to sweet...freedom? It probably thinks it's sweet freedom or something because it is a simple leech.]

It's a little hard to tell if that thing is or not; the dog is a much better gauge.

Oh--it's Daisy.

[ And her ears perk up at that. Attention? Attention!! ]

I'd pet her, but I've been handling that thing. You'll have to pet her for me at some point.

[ She's very soft. It's a shame you have unholy leech on your hands, Birkin. ]

How about this... she'll be around for quite a while. Once you've washed up, I'm sure she'd love pets from anyone.

One of the places I worked at had dogs around. We all lived on-site, and we had guard dogs watching the place. Nothing half as cute, for obvious reasons, but it's been kind of weird not having animals around lately.

Ah, really? It must have been quite the high-security place.

[ She scratches Daisy under the chin, which makes her sort of flop in Mira's arms. ]

She is very cute... even if she can be sort of a pain. I hope having her will liven up the place a bit, though.

We could probably all use a distraction. Cute dogs are almost always a good one.

[ She lets out a little laugh. ]

I'm just worried she'll be spoiled, what with all the food we can order. Hopefully she won't get too chubby.
