Friday morning rolls in and when you awake, your memories have been returned to you. No ceremony or anything, they're just... back. The Captain is silent, the ship is silent...

Probably a good idea to go check and see if anything happened while you all were asleep. You might not have to go very far at all.

[ Albedo had noticed that his roommate was having a rough morning; sensible all things considered and if Albedo wasn't himself maybe he would have felt the same way. By now he knows they're both quiet in a sense, private too, so he had spared Lalli a glance to make sure he's not in any immediate danger before heading off to investigate.

It's a short one given the crowd around many of the areas, and it doesn't take Albedo long to finish his investigation of the library and return to the room. Now that some has passed, he calls out to his roommate, though he doesn't infringe on his space any. ]

Lalli, how are you feeling?

[Someone else has died. A trial will be soon. Lalli is well aware of these facts, he was awake when the announcement was broadcast. But those troubles seem far away compared to the troubles within his own mind.

It might be hard to see Lalli at first, but if Albedo checks under the bed he'll find Lalli in his usual sleeping spot. Except he's not sleeping, he's curled up in a ball and hugging his knees tightly to his chest. We'll say he's facing outwards, so he'll actually be able to see Albedo if he opens his eyes.]

No.

[That's. Not really an answer to Albedo's question, but it's about all he can get out right now.]

[ ...hmn. He hasn't really dealt with a situation like this before, at least not with this severity. There had been times where Klee had gotten upset, but not to this extent. It's not like Lalli is Klee anyway, and Albedo knows this.

He hesitates just a second to process that answer (nonsensical as it is) and then crouches down himself. Not close to Lalli but holding a conversation when they're at such different heights just doesn't seem right. ]

...I see. What do you need right now?

[silentscout]

I want to go home.

[What he wants is impossible right now. And every day he's here is one less day to...

Lalli's grip on his knees tightens.]

I think many of us do, but I know that won't necessarily provide you comfort. [ Albedo himself is one of them, even if it's for a different reason than most others. ]

Since that is not possible right now, do you want anything else? I don't have much to offer, but if it's possible, I'd like to help you.

[Honestly, nothing really will make him feel better now. But he has to be strong. They have something to do today, after all.]

Walk with me?

[To the trial, he means.]

Sure. [ That's an easy ask and there's no hesitation in his answer. He offers his hand after scooting closer to Lalli's bed, now that he no longer feels like he would be infringing on his space. ]

[Lalli, for his part, will be silent after he crawls out from under the bed. But even if he can't say it, he does appreciate having someone right there.]
