THIRD TRIAL

[ Once all the needed information has been pulled from the PARTY ZONE and nearby echelons, Davy Jones once again does his rounds to collect everyone and bring them to the theatre. ]

You are all familiar with this procedure by now, step quickly!

[ And with the blast of the organ, down the elevator starts to go, into the bowels of the ship below. Things darken and then, as before, you hear a song from the crew of the Dutchman drifting predatory below. ]

Take yer places, all of ye.

[ The circle of podiums remains, two more podiums rusted over and aged. Jones takes his place, meanwhile, looking out the window at the sea.

The shanty dies down, and the atmosphere darkens.

Welcome to your third trial. ]

Hm, yes, that would be a logical reason... however, I have to wonder. How did they cut the rope in the first place?

The killer can't have gotten on the chandelier to cut it, so it must have been from a distance. Someone with good aim and skill at throwing knives?

[Can't be easy to throw knives that weren't even made for throwing]

Unless they climbed, like with a ladder. It is possible to get up there; Sylvando climbed onto the chandeliers and swung on them our first week here.

Mm, I don't think there are any ladders. Sylvando was very agile he could have found a way to jump up there or used unconventional methods to climb... I don't think many of us could.

If they did that, wouldn't there be signs of a knife striking the wall or ceiling?

My thoughts exactly. I can't imagine how they would have managed the force to cut through the rope without leaving a knife stuck in the ceiling or at least a mark up there.

That's likely. I think we're looking for someone agile more than someone who can throw a knife.
scythegun: (REALIZE ⇝ estelle's the princess?)

That's a possibility, and Freyja brought up the spears from the vending machine as well.

[personal profile] leaveittomother 2021-02-20 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
That would also make sense. Who do you we know that had access to them?

I doubt most people make a point of showing off what weapons they've received, ja? I doubt we'll be able to determine anything from that.

...r-right, there probably would be.

[And if there were any someone would have found them, so...hm]

It just seems so dangerous to put yourself near a chandelier you intend to drop, you know? It's a lot of glass flying around once it hits the floor, you're gonna get injured if you're right there.

[personal profile] scouserer 2021-02-20 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they planned for it to drop when they were far enough away? Like...like a trap of some sort. Or something.

[look hes just spitballing here]

There would be a lot more tampering if you make a trap to do something like that. It would be easier to try to unscrew the base if you wanted to make a trap that way.

With what ladder? Just because the acrobat could get up there doesn't mean it's simple.
