WEEK 5

Sunday arrives again. Even knowing the true face of your captor, Captain Jack, can't seem to stop that. The ship carries on through the Bermuda Triangle as normal. Or at least what passes for normal, out here.

As seems to be a running theme, a new floor of the ship is now open to you, this one a little tackier than the last, as well as a new section of the topdeck. The cycle you find yourself growing increasingly used to continues.

How long can this really last?

[So, fun fact about these rooms! Flayn uses them to hide some of the weirder things the vending machine gives her. Like the pinup calendars. And...now Charlie Pants. Look, usually she keeps at least one of the dolls, but he's...unsettling. Moreso than the bootleg bear. It's with a calendar and a creepy clown doll under one arm that she comes in as Decus works on his collage.]

Oh, hello Decus! Do not mind me.

[And here goes Flayn to the supply shelves, handily sliding the calendar under something and...hm. How does she hide this doll without it scaring anyone later?]

[thisaroma]

[ Looking up from his project briefly ]

Hey, Flayn.

[ ........And then looking up again because he realizes he's not sure what he was just watching ]

What are you doing?

I am disposing of the items which make me uncomfortable.

[She opens up a cabinet...hm, is there enough to hide Charlie Pants behind in here? Let's do some reorganizing.]

Though I have not yet decided where I want to put a particularly dangerous item, if only because it is dangerous. I would feel more comfortable getting rid of it permanently, but I do not know where I can do that. Miss Adeline - well, she said it would be wrong of me to throw something like it into the ocean, and I would not want to do her memory ill.

[ He guesses that's fair, but... why in here?? ]

Because of the item itself, or because she just didn't like dumping things in the sea?

Both. It...it is a poison.

[Flayn can Read, so she is Aware it is poison.]

I would not want to abandon it somewhere and find that it has fallen into someone's hands for nefarious uses.

[thisaroma]

The almond stuff, you mean? Couldn't you just pour it out in the sink?

[ Does that just end up in the ocean again... he has no idea how boat plumbing works ]

Is that safe? I - what if someone had to use that sink, and there was still some residue left within it?

[You know what she'd like to throw the cyanide into

a trash compactor]

Seems like it should be okay if you rinse it out after? I don't think anyone is cleaning food in the bathroom sink or anything...

[ Especially since there is no food right now! ]

Or you could use the shower drain?

[ If you're licking the floor of a shower you probably deserve whatever you get. ]

[But what if you have a cut on your foot and take a shower and-]

I shall have to consider it. For now, this gentleman is my priority.

[She has successfully emptied out one shelf and stuffs Charlie Pants inside, facing away from where you would open the cabinet, and slowly begins to put things back in it again.]

He is ever so disconcerning...!

Yeah, I got a couple of those. [ ... ] Pretty sure it's just going to be creepier to any unsuspecting person who pulls it out of there than it would be if you just threw it in the trash or left it by the machine.

Oh, no, I am sure he will not be discovered. I shall cover him up very well.

[Thank goodness this is the first (possibly only) iteration of Charlie Pants Flayn has gotten, or there'd be more hidden all over the ship and that would be terrible.]

[thisaroma]

...If you say so.

[ Though, like, he's watching this, so he might just come back later and do everyone a favor by tossing the thing. ]

[He absolutely can do that, Flayn has no intention on checking up on this awful thing.]

Ah, there we go. [He's all covered up in supplies! You actually can't really make him out unless you look really close. Flayn closes the cabinet.] What a relief! If only other things were so simple.

[thisaroma]

[ Looking back to his project... ]

That'd be nice, yeah.

[Looks over to Decus's project...

You know, she may never like Alice, but she can appreciate your dedication.]

...If I find something decorative and pretty, would you like me to give it to you for your collage?

Oh. Sure, if you want to.

[ Hm... ]

Actually, do you know anything about drying or pressing flowers? [ Are pressed flowers considered dried??? He's not sure how interchangeable those terms are. ] I was thinking about maybe adding some pretty ones from the garden since I never got to give her any, but I don't... really have any idea how that works, and it seems like it'd be kind of a waste if I messed up a bunch trying to figure it out.

Oh! Yes, I know how to press flowers. It takes some time if you want them to be thoroughly dried, but with all of the books in the library, we should be able to manage that easily. It is not hard at all.

[thisaroma]

Really? [ He has no idea what library books have to do with it, but thankfully he has her word to take for it! ] Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks.

Not a problem. Do you know what specific types of flowers you would want to dry?

[thisaroma]

Well... white and pink ones, mostly, to match the rest of this.

[ Gestures to the corkboard! ]

And preferably ones with appropriate meanings. [ Hm. ] Some probably have shapes that are better for that kind of thing than others, though, right? Like, I'm not sure how something like a camellia would look...

[ He is not sure what ANYTHING looks like dried... ]

Well, for a large flower like a camellia, you would cut the bloom in half and dry it that way, with the stem attached. They symbolize love, affection, and admiration...which I think would work well for what you want to convey.

[Whether Alice really ought to have those things associated with her or not is up for debate.]

You could dry roses in the same manner.
