FOURTH INVESTIGATION

Friday morning and, well, you all wake up hungry, I'm sure. Even the vending machine isn't dropping food anymore, apart from sticks of butter, and one cannot live on that for very long. Another week has passed on this ship, and despite the fun communal activity of Accidentally Summoning Calypso, Goddess of the Sea last night, there's a tension in the air that cannot be dispelled or explained by the presence of some supernatural entity.

But hey, relax! The hallway outside your rooms is clear, at least! Most of you are around! And look, there's breakfast in the good ol' Jimmy Buffet!

... Wait, breakfast in the buffet? But that would mean...

[Hahahaha, so. Getting away from the bodies for a moment because, fuck. It was a probably good decision not to eat breakfast this morning.

He wanders the ship in a half-daze before ending up in the spa. What's happening in here?]

[ Well, uh. So there's a meditation room sort of thing, in the back? With a little pond and good vibes?

Yeah, it's currently actively on fire. ]

[UH. OKAY. DEFINITELY GOING TO BE TRYING TO PUT THAT OUT!!!! How big is the fire?! Is it possible for him to just chuck off his jacket and stamp it out? If not, he...he might have to, uh, ask for help. Probably from Scott.]

[ It is a pretty significant fire. You could also yell for help from Captain Jack or Davy Jones, just on an ooc level I wanna put that forward. ]

[Okay, well, he's definitely not asking for help from Jack, which means--]

OI! JONESY! The bloody ship's on fire! Get in 'ere and do something about it!

[ Jones proceeds to... you know, it might explain why you never see him walk the halls to see him step directly out of the wall, leaving a slightly discolored patch behind. ]

... So it is.

[ He looks at the fire, and the air does the same thickening sort of thing it did when first he arrived. The fire shrinks down, over the course of a long few seconds, until it is out. ]

As you were, Mister Constantine.

[UM. Well! Constantine jumps a bit, glancing between the now extinguished fire and Jones.]

Could--Could you always do that? [A pause.] Nevermind, don't answer that. Cheers, mate.

[Christ. Okay. Hopefully, things should be easier to investigate without the imminent threat of the whole ship burning down. Is there any evidence as to how the fire started or what was being burned?]

[ Well, the sheer number of candles in here should work for a start. And the smell of essential oils, as noted to Filbo below. ]

[Hmmm. Presumably, everything is still pretty hot so he's going to start poking around the ashes with his foot.

Does it look more like the fire started due to being unattended, or did someone purposely set it up?]

[ It looks more like it was a case of "someone set this up very carefully and then got into a fight." They left something behind, though. ]

[ Well, the fire is out now! Care to start in? ]

....... Presumably Constantine is going to investigate that so, uh. What set it on fire? Is there some lighter fluid or something lying around?]

[ Well there's All These Candles And Oils, and it's notable that they're in clear disarray, like there was a struggle here. ]

[Ah, hm. Scott def knows what it looks like when stuff gets moved around during a fight! He's just gonna take note of that, but also: does it look like someone was settling in for some self-care and then got got or was this stuff just already here and some Unfortunate Circumstances happened?]

[ It does look like it was, at one point, pretty carefully arranged!

At least there's the pond? Though that seems to have been slightly upset as well, actually. ]

[ It looks like the lilies on top have all been smushed over to the sides.

Unrelated fun fact, this pond is definitely wide and deep enough to hold a person! ]

[First thing Filbo sees when he enters the spa is Constantine trying to handle fire and Filbo just groans exasperated and wisely stays away. How do things get worse by the minute on this ship, is it the Bermuda Triangle's curse or what.

He's just...going to stick with Scott while the conflagration is dealt with. Better take a look at the spa supplies or something after the fire is dealt with because there are priorities here!]

[ Looks like some of the essential oils are missing? Which, given the strong sent of patchouli that takes over once the fire is gone is probably easy enough to account for. ]

Uh...guys, that fire...well, I guess it's obvious what caused it.

[Alright, that answers that particular question. Anything else to note in the areas far away from the fire?]
