Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.

Three more of your number gone - or four, depending on your point of view. But regardless, you're down three bodies. The boat is getting less crowded, week by week. A loneliness only exacerbated by yet another new floor, and yet another section of topdeck. There are almost too many facilities for you to use by now, aren't there? And yet the amenities keep on coming. One of them is even personalized, this time, and perhaps not in a way you're fully comfortable with.

Who knows, maybe if your number falls enough, you'll be able to just exist permanently on the different floors. Might keep you out of the trial room for more than a week.

Are you at the point where you'd settle for that yet?

And if you look to the horizon, out in the distance... there are clouds starting to gather on the horizon this week.

I suppose so. It was a time of resurgence for pictographic communication - a photo of a ball pit was often used to express desolation, perhaps in some commentary on the contrast between that and the original, lost, joyful intent.

That was a difficult time for humanity. I suppose this is not terribly different.

That is understandable as well. It is frightening, to know that the Captain possesses such power, likely over us all.

How could someone make such a device? Is it from technology? Magic? I...I could not tell, but if there is some way to combat it, we must find it!

I believe it must be magical in nature. It bore a marked resemblance to human legends of "voodoo dolls". The gist is that one may create a representation of someone, often including some hair or other material from them, and use it to affect them physically.

But - I only cut mine recently! And no one else seems to have cut their hair! D-Did he take hair from everyone while we slept?

It may not be hair specifically. At any rate, if he did anything like that, I am sure he did not wait for you to cut your hair. [comforting???]

I greatly dislike that man having taken something from my body, and from everyone else's, no matter what it is.

That is fair. At any rate, we clearly cannot challenge him while he has access to such tactics.

If it is some kind of magic - perhaps Magica is familiar with it? She might know how to fight against such a thing. We should ask her.

It does seem like something she would use. We can discuss it at the next meeting.
