Three more of your number gone - or four, depending on your point of view. But regardless, you're down three bodies. The boat is getting less crowded, week by week. A loneliness only exacerbated by yet another new floor, and yet another section of topdeck. There are almost too many facilities for you to use by now, aren't there? And yet the amenities keep on coming. One of them is even personalized, this time, and perhaps not in a way you're fully comfortable with.

Who knows, maybe if your number falls enough, you'll be able to just exist permanently on the different floors. Might keep you out of the trial room for more than a week.

Are you at the point where you'd settle for that yet?

And if you look to the horizon, out in the distance... there are clouds starting to gather on the horizon this week.

She actually got some stuffed toys of them here. It's too bad he couldn't bring the real things, especially since those cats keep showing up... though I guess he wouldn't want anyone trying to fly away on Aramis, so that one's probably fair.

I am certain having them around would make them interesting, at the very least.

Yeah! Or floats, more like. He's pretty slow.

[ never forget watching the antagonists make a 5 mph getaway on two of these things, indoors, while everyone just watched like "welp, guess there's nothing we can do now" ]

That does not seem like much of a reason to keep him from appearing here, then, given the kraken could likely just grab someone out of the air. I imagine he just would not fit in the vending machine.

Ah... hm. Yeah, actually he'd probably have kind of a hard time moving through the halls here, too.

Just how big is he, really...?

Er... maybe 5 or 6 feet wide, unless his arms are outstretched? Big enough to ride, anyway.

I... see. That seems like it could be quite intimidating, particularly if you met him in a dark alleyway.

It couldn't be a narrow alleyway, anyway, but yeah, I guess.

You don't have any similar monsters in your world? You had all those... food monsters, right?

[ He'd been trying very hard not to listen to that conversation at the time, but he remembers that much! ]

Hmm... not necessarily like that, but I suppose some of them are odd in ways that are not quite identifiable. Like eggsoskeletons.

...Those aren't just eggs with bones?

No. They are mechanical, egg-shaped creatures with powerful legs, and you can ride inside them.

Inside them? Like, they eat you? [ Do mechanical monsters eat... ] Or they just... have a space that you can fit in for some reason?

Well, they are presumed to be piloted by... something, but the monsters that usually inhabit them are so enigmatic that no one is quite certain what they look like. Even other monsters seem clueless about what rides inside an eggsoskeleton...

Oh... So they're not the actual monster? Just its... well, shell, I guess?

Effectively, yes. Though, I do have to wonder if they would be considered part of the monster in the way that a shell is technically a part of a snail...
