Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.

Three more of your number gone - or four, depending on your point of view. But regardless, you're down three bodies. The boat is getting less crowded, week by week. A loneliness only exacerbated by yet another new floor, and yet another section of topdeck. There are almost too many facilities for you to use by now, aren't there? And yet the amenities keep on coming. One of them is even personalized, this time, and perhaps not in a way you're fully comfortable with.

Who knows, maybe if your number falls enough, you'll be able to just exist permanently on the different floors. Might keep you out of the trial room for more than a week.

Are you at the point where you'd settle for that yet?

And if you look to the horizon, out in the distance... there are clouds starting to gather on the horizon this week.

That is fair. My own world did not have anything like me, prior to myself and Lore. We have words for the theory of us, but perhaps not the reality.

["Android" is an old term, after all. It's not much to do with how they fit into society - not even, necessarily, exactly what they are.]

I am sorry that your experiences have been so negative. I do not believe it is fair to judge an entire species uniformly, but as it sounds as though they are waging war against your kind, questions of fairness cannot be your priority. I hope that one day you can have better experiences with individuals, at the very least.

The mortals here have been...positive, mostly. As individuals.

I am glad to hear that.

[Though, from the way Data purses his lips, he's not unaware of the fact that liking individuals here only...makes things more difficult, in a way.]

Though I suppose there has still been violence here.

There has. But I feel less as though they can be faulted for it here; even though it can be argued that there's an element of choice, I feel it's unreasonable to expect no one to give into temptation.

Much of what has happened was unintentional, at any rate.

[Except for like, Alice and Decus. One of whom is still walking around.]

Regardless, the captain is ultimately at fault for all of this.

I would appreciate having some way to do something about all of this.

Many people have expressed similar sentiments to me. But we are, at least, doing better than we have been. We were able to reach out to Calypso. Even if it is true that we will not be able to do so again, we now know that magical rituals may work here, and that we have at least one ally here.

[Also all that stuff about the dead people...?]

That's true. However, there's a strong chance our numbers will keep dropping.

[She fixes her gaze on the Enterprise again.]

I miss them. The ones that we've lost. I don't know if they can be saved, but I do hope that they can in some way.

...If not, I hope that Lord Davy will take care of them.

The confirmation that they still exist in some form gives me some hope. My world has no confirmation of an afterlife. [He knows Freyja's does, but he wouldn't extrapolate that to mean anything about his own.]

What I've heard of this one seems different to anything I've heard of, even if my own world does have an afterlife that I know of. I've tried asking Lord Davy about parts of it; he doesn't know anything about what happens after they're transported to the hereafter, nor does he want to know, because he does not intend to die.

I'm hoping that they can be brought back to the world of the living. Since Lord Davy can clearly visit the place they are and yet still live within this realm, perhaps they can be transported back.

Yes, I think that is a reasonably possible outcome. We would have to confer with Mr. Jones and Calypso more to find out for sure, but we will have to do that in any case. We will need to find Mr. Jones's heart to return it to him - even if it was not necessary for our safety, we should not leave anyone in the captain's power.
