WEEK 6
Good morning, passengers. Happy Sunday. Happy New Year.
Three more of your number gone - or four, depending on your point of view. But regardless, you're down three bodies. The boat is getting less crowded, week by week. A loneliness only exacerbated by yet another new floor, and yet another section of topdeck. There are almost too many facilities for you to use by now, aren't there? And yet the amenities keep on coming. One of them is even personalized, this time, and perhaps not in a way you're fully comfortable with.
Who knows, maybe if your number falls enough, you'll be able to just exist permanently on the different floors. Might keep you out of the trial room for more than a week.
Are you at the point where you'd settle for that yet?
And if you look to the horizon, out in the distance... there are clouds starting to gather on the horizon this week.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[ ooc: Welcome to week 6, everyone! Remember to turn in AC here and coins for regains over here! If you wish to get in contact with the npcs, Davy Jones is over here, and The Captain is over here! And as requested, profiles are accessible here. ]

[Both for the image, and for having possibly contributed to it.]
I admit that I'm glad, however, to know that you aren't truly considering going through with it; honestly, I've always found that admirable about you.
no subject
[Really, everybody can be pushed to murder if the circumstances are the right ones. Filbo is no exception!
But he does seem to think it's likelier than it actually is, goodness, can you imagine how thoroughly you have to break this grumpus before he sees murdering even one person as a thing he should do. The fact he's worried in the first place is a good sign of sanity, really]
no subject
[Sure, maybe someday he'll snap like a twig, but she has faith in him, honestly]
I also admit that I have difficulty seeing you lying to all of us at the trial and trying to get all of us killed...
no subject
That's true, I don't think I have the cold blood to do that! Besides, I, uh...I kinda am attached to you all already. No surprise there, right?
[Really, the later in the game the less likely he would, hah]
no subject
[She seems amused, really.]
It's good to hear it, however.
no subject
[Filbo sighs, extending a couple cakepops towards Freyja. Here, take one, he can't go eating four dozens without sharing, hah]
How about you? You said it feels...wrong, was it? Not to do it? Is the Captain trying to use your brother against you again?
[The Captain is a man of little originality, in his opinion. He spent more than a month pushing Bugsnax over and over as a way to weaken Filbo's resolve -- at least that's what Filbo thinks was his strategy -- so he wouldn't be surprised if the Captain keeps using Freyr as the main component against Freyja. He's horrible enough to do that]
no subject
Freyr is... He's part of it, yes. I could show you if you want me to.
no subject
[What do you have, Freyja?]
no subject
No, but actually. She'll pass the device over easily enough, after finding the image that was sent to her as part of the motive. It looks like it's in the middle of some sort of banquet, the decorations implying that it's a celebration for the new year; she's there, and someone who must be Freyr is with her, along with five other people with the strange hair and large butterfly wings. One of them is familiar (it's Plumeria!) while three of them may not be; the fifth is... Well, it takes a moment of looking at her, but her hair is a familiar neon blue and her face is unmistakably Chloe's - she's got bright purple wings and a suitably edgy-looking dress on, and she seems happy.
Granted, there are also a lot more people present here, because it isn't a proper banquet without a sufficient number of guests, and they all look familiar; they lack the wings and the hair that would imply that they're one of the álfar - they're clearly mortals (or...close enough) that have been granted permission to enter the realm for a while - but the fact of the matter is that the table is set for 30, not counting Freyr and Freyja, and everyone from the murdercruise seems to be present, including the dead.
They aren't acting any differently than they normally would, from what can be seen. They're just there, and they're all alive and well, and- ]
There...really isn't any way to achieve that. Jack wouldn't allow it.

[This is definitely not the kind of thing Filbo expected. He just has to leave his cakepops and stare. This looks like such a hopeful picture, so...ideal. Almost perfect. Those horns...so that's Freyr, back alive. Other fairies, ones Freyja undoubtedly must know, and that's...that's Chloe. Happy, and also definitely a fairy. Then he notices everything else, and that's just so sweet.
It really is the kind of picture a lot of people would think about but judge impossible, for so many reasons, but there it is...this is what Jack says Freyja wants. Filbo never thought he'd be agreeing with Jack about literally anything, but he does hope this is what Freyja wants. It'd be so...so hopeful, not only because she gets Freyr back, but also because it'd mean she sees everyone else on the ship as people she wants to see alive and well]
...wow...he really is...making promises he never intends to fulfill. It's like he used literally everything he could think you wanted, and then a little more. There's no way he would...actually allow this to be real...
[Alas, it's Jack. He wouldn't resurrect anyone. Not after everything he has done. The sight of Chloe all happy and with a new life with Freyja, though, gives Filbo revulsion towards the Captain]
H-How dares he bring her up after--after what he did...!
no subject
[It was deeply distressing, to put it lightly.]
I admit that I'm upset by the whole thing. But I'm not... I can't make myself act on it. Even if acting on it and winning would save everyone here, according to this, it requires entirely too much trust in the Captain. If it were something less than this, then perhaps...perhaps I would be tempted. But I can't see him granting this.
no subject
[That's something he's absolutely certain about and at this point he's not changing his mind not even if the Captain lets them go home in the next five minutes. Jack is completely unsalvageable to him.
Filbo stares at the photo for a while longer and starts saying, at first slowly:]
...maybe...he has given up on you. I mean, you resisted everything he had thrown at you so far. Even though it was effective, you managed to hold on strong, and that's great! But it must have made him so frustrated now he has decided to focus on other targets instead of on you -- but he had to show you something, so he just mashed everything into one picture and phoned it in.
[In other words: Filbo hopes it means the Captain thinks the worst of Freyja's eagerness to murder has passed over. Whether that's correct or not may be secondary, what the Captain thinks may be what matters here, he thinks]
no subject
[Plumeria drugged her such that she was a little too off her face to do a murder, so that, uh. Doesn't precisely count as a display of willpower.]
It's going to sound horrible, but... I honestly wasn't expecting to see this at all. I thought it would show me Freyr, but the rest was...surprising.
no subject
I don't think it's horrible you didn't expect this, but it does make me wonder...Lady Freyja, take a moment to think about it: is that picture something you truly want? I mean...if there were no strings attached and probably no murder was needed...would you want everything you see there?
[He smiles encouragingly]
I-It's okay if it isn't. And maybe you won't have an answer right now or won't want to answer it aloud, but what matters is that you can one day answer that to yourself and know it to be true. I mean...Jack won't know better than you do what it's you want.
no subject
[It's difficult to answer, really; "I don't know" is the closest to an honest answer she has.]
I...feel like such a thing wouldn't be bad? I would like parts of it very much, at least...
[Why is this so hard.]
It isn't something I don't want...?
no subject
[Probably, at least]
no subject
[Mnnnngh, though.]
I'll...keep all of that in mind, however. I suppose.
no subject
Who are them, by the way? Retainers like Plumeria and Triandra?
no subject
no subject
[Of course the guy from the world where you can gather twelve grumpuses without repeating fur tones would immediately notice the colors. Really, for a while colors were how he associated people on the ship with names]
no subject
[She sounds amused, at least.]
And that's...obviously Freyr there as well. Not in his other form this time. Usually he would have to be made to attend these sorts of things, he's a little standoffish... Peony would love them, however, she's very outgoing. She's Triandra's younger sister. As for Mirabilis... Well, it's something of a wonder she hasn't fallen asleep at the table just yet.
[Her words seem...surprisingly fond; she isn't sure why. Perhaps she just...misses Álfheimr in general. It's hard to say.]
no subject
[A standoffish Freyr, Freyja being herself, grumpy Plumeria, Triandra is there too, outgoing Peony, and apparenly sleepy Mirabilis...he dares say it's adorable how Freyja's words seem so fond. Filbo can't help but smile at that]
I hope they're all okay right now...these must be tough times, with you here and... [And Freyr gone] ...well, it's only matter of time before you return.
no subject
It's been a while since we all spent time together. I admit that perhaps it would be good to do so again.
no subject
[...he should...do that too. Maybe. If he goes back home, he should gather everyone. When was the last time he saw any of his friends for more than a few minutes? Being a mayor is busy work, other than his buddy he just didn't get to see friends for long. Well, right now perhaps he isn't the mayor anyway, so, moot point...dang, he has a lot to think about again]
...ah...thanks again, Lady Freyja. It's been good to have been able to take my mind off this all. You know, I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna accept the offer you made about me starting a new life in another realm, but once I do I hope it'll be a decision you can be proud of--I-I promise it'll be.
no subject
Besides, perhaps we can find a way to see each other after all of this is over. You said that you would always have a spare room for me; there is always going to be a place in my halls for you, no matter what you choose to do.
