FIFTH TRIAL

[ It's not terribly long, once everything has been found, before Davy Jones heads out to round you all up once more and take you into the theatre. At least plenty of you are around the same area, so it probably doesn't take terribly long.

The ride down to the trial room is the same as ever - a blast of the organ, a slow descent. It's really starting to become clear, though, just how your numbers are decreasing. You're already down three, counting the absence of Chloe, potentially more when you come back up.

The crew of the Dutchman is singing as Jones lets you out into the trial room. ]

To business, passengers. I am about if you need guidance.

[ The circle of podiums is less populated than ever. So many of you are islands now, so to speak.

The song dies down, the waters quiet.

Welcome to your fifth trial.. ]

True. Though that doesn't necessarily connect to whatever he did last night, since, y'know. Accessory to murder.

I would say that's true yet we can't ignore the possibility of it being connected either.

It could very well be both. Still, if he was really already dead and someone wasn't concealing their true weapon, that's classic overkill.

It makes it sound very personal, doesn't it?

Not as if that really narrows it down, though, does it? You all liked the clown.

Plumeria actually seemed to be one of the most upset at his death so I think it might.

Plumeria is dead and unable to defend herself. I would appreciate it if we could refrain from accusing her of anything unless you have solid evidence that she did anything.

I wasn't accusing her, Lady Freyja. I was saying it was unlikely that this was in response for Sylvando's death due to that.

[She was defending her???]

Given the effort to stop Plumeria’s bleeding, I find myself wondering if Decus’s killer was seeking revenge for her rather than Sylvando.

I think so, too. That would be the most obvious reason at least.

She appeared to have been laid down with some care.

[He says rather matter-of-factly. A moment later, due to Other Conversations, he adds:]

I do not believe that to be indicative of a single person's involvement. There are many people here who cared for Plumeria, and taking care with a body seems like the correct form of action in any case. [read: he would've done that too]

That's true; still, I feel if that's all they did they would have confessed to it. There's no reason to hide that you tried to move her body into a more respectable position. Even if that made us suspicious considering all the other things that have happened in previous trials that likely would have been pushed aside.

[Like... Plumeria nearly killing Freyja on accident, for example. She's definitely not saying that out loud with Freyja right next to her, though.]
