FIFTH TRIAL
[ It's not terribly long, once everything has been found, before Davy Jones heads out to round you all up once more and take you into the theatre. At least plenty of you are around the same area, so it probably doesn't take terribly long.
The ride down to the trial room is the same as ever - a blast of the organ, a slow descent. It's really starting to become clear, though, just how your numbers are decreasing. You're already down three, counting the absence of Chloe, potentially more when you come back up.
The crew of the Dutchman is singing as Jones lets you out into the trial room. ]
To business, passengers. I am about if you need guidance.
[ The circle of podiums is less populated than ever. So many of you are islands now, so to speak.
The song dies down, the waters quiet.
Welcome to your fifth trial.. ]

I checked the infirmary--there was a collection for medications for fever and nausea on the counter, with a bottle of acetaminophen knocked over. For that matter, it looked like there had been a struggle in the room.
Given that Decus' iron maiden was in there as well, I think it's safe to assume who was looking through the medicine, but was there any evidence he had been poisoned? Or was he just ill again?

I examined Decus' body. First of all, he wasn't wearing his usual outfit, instead he was wearing the tie-dye t-shirt under his jacket. He also had six knives stabbed into his torso. Only one of those wounds bled, and the injury there was a little odd; it was torn and messed up around the edges. Those knives were from the vending machine, of course. There was also a shallow, minor stab wound in his upper left arm. It seems that could have been made by the knives as well. [But that isn't 100% confirmed, so it isn't in bold.] Decus also was hit in the forehead with something blunt, though I was unable to determine anything more about what could have caused that. There was also a small pool of blood under him, which seems to have come from the chest wound.
Finally, he seemed ill. I believe he may have been poisoned, but I couldn't tell you with what exactly. Whatever it was seemed to be very mild, however; I think it's very unlikely that it was what killed him.
I also found this [holding up Decus' multipuprose murdergame device] next to him. As you can see, there's a heart drawn in blood on here. It should likely go without saying that Decus drew it around Alice's picture.
[It was specifically on the motive picture if you want to look for yourselves!!
Oh right, and—]
I also saw that some of the floral patterned fabric in the crafts room was clumsily cut; it seems that some of it was removed. Nothing else was tampered with.

If only one of the wounds bled, the others might've been made after he died.

[Data's trying real hard to project emotionlessness today!]
She suffered a slash to the abdomen from a large blade, as well as significant damage to her left wing. The latter almost appeared to come from multiple blades simultaneously. There was some effort to stop the bleeding from her stomach with a piece of fabric - I believe she was not alone when she died.
She also had a large bruise covering the left side of her body. Her remaining skin was unnaturally flushed, and there was a pink frothy discharge around her mouth. I was unable to determine its chemical components, but it smelled sweet.

Is it possible Plumeria was the one poisoned and not Decus? Flushed skin would indicate a fever, alongside the rest--that would explain why the medications were gone through in such a rush. If Decus saw her eat something she shouldn't have, or if the symptoms presented themselves in front of him...

I found froyo. Uh, you know, from the ice cream place? The thing is, it's been tampered with, I found, well-- [He also places the wintergreen essential oil bottle] --this in the trash. Last I checked these spa oils weren't meant to be eaten, so...you should stay away from this.
[He shrugs]
If Decus looked like he was poisoned then it probably was with some of this?

That does seem likely, Filbo, since whatever Decus was poisoned with didn't kill him.

Someone was looking for that in the spa. [He points to the essential oils bottle.] Like, they deliberately looked through the bottles and just took that one.

They have to.]
I shall describe what I saw, but considering what I found, I believe my discoveries would align better if reversed for a...timeline.
[She's not sure she phrased that right, but, here we go.]
The crafts room was largely undisturbed aside from Plumeria and another area.. I did not see a blood trail or signs of a struggle until I went back into the lounge area. There, I found a trail of blood that came to the crafts room and began in the lounge, in an area where a struggle seemed to have taken place. Furniture was thrown asunder. There was a considerable gash in the wall, along with blood splatters likely made by whatever caused the gash. From where it was on the wall, I believe someone taller than myself would have had to make the gash.
[That isn't really hard, considering most of y'all are taller than her, but it bears mentioning.]
I also went to observe Decus, though I did not examine his body. Next to him was a large and ominous blade, one that Yeager was kind enough to bring with him, as I highly doubt I could have lifted it on my own. [And I'm sure Yeager won't mind people examining the weirdo sword if asked.] If you look closer at the spiked ends on the top, you will see... [It's here Flayn has to pause, and glance at Freyja, because she's not going to like hearing this.] I. I believe there be pieces of Plumeria's wing caught on the spikes, as well as signs of blood and wear. Make of that what you will.
[That's all she's got.]

cat herd!! for timeline shit
[Constantine scratches the back of his neck, frowning. His eyebrows knit together in deep thought.]
First, the ice cream parlor. Someone had tampered with the frozen yogurt machine--likely putting the wintergreen essential oils in the machine. Second, there was some acetaminophen scattered in the first aid room. Now, my initial thought would be that maybe someone ate it and sought out medicine to deal with whatever side-effects might have occurred, but I believe Zero stated there might have been a scuffle in that room.
Next--the lounge and the craft room. I assume things moved here last, as these are where we found the bodies. Between the sword, the slash on the wall, and the state of Plumeria's wounds, I can only assume that someone attacked Plumeria with his sword in the lounge. However, Plumeria might've then moved to the craft room in a desperate attempt to staunch the wound--though, she also demonstrated signs of poisoning.
Decus also was stabbed several times in the chest, and there was a blunt force wound to his head. It's important to note that although he was stabbed multiple times, only one of the wounds bled--probably the killing blow.
I hesitate to say whether Decus was the one who attacked Plumeria--because, if that were the case, Plumeria would probably not have had the strength to stab him multiple times while still trying to tend to her wounds. Not to mention...I'm not sure if she had anywhere to store six knives on her body. So that means we're likely looking at a third party--but the question is what role they had in all this.
[A pause.]
S'there anything else I'm missing?

Assuming he ate it, Decus would have known someone wasn't right immediately. Maybe whoever tampered with the machine realized he wasn't quite poisoned enough and followed him to the first aid room.

Therefore it'd be for the best if everyone who has pockets to empty them for me. I'll come around to inspect the items up close to verify, naturally.

Anyone who will desire to ask to check what's in his pockets can in return do so if they desire. ]

In order to clear up any lingering concerns the lot of you may have, let me verify a few things for you:
Decus was attacked from the front, he had a massive sword, and only one of the wounds he sustained was fatal. I wouldn't have tried to fight him, I wouldn't have been able to fight him without getting maimed, nor did I have any interest in fighting him. I also didn't poison him, overdose him, or do anything strange with the iron maiden, so I assume all of those were decisions made by someone else.
As for Plumeria... Plumeria trusted me, and that's precisely why I wouldn't have done this to her. Any thoughts I may have had toward killing her were removed with the third incentive - it was only viable to me as an option then because Plumeria had already died back home. But she informed that in our shared timeline, I gave my life for her so that she would live. If I wanted her living on without me, why would I have killed her solely so I can benefit? It makes little to no sense to me.
I didn't kill Decus, and I wouldn't have killed Plumeria. I want to get as many out of this alive as possible.

EXECUTION - THE LAND OF NIGHTMARES
Whoa, talk about a shocker! Looks like The Goddess of Love was the culprit all along! Who could’ve guessed? Not me. Because I already knew. Take her away, Jones.
[ And then, with a flash, the familiar process begins. The Dutchman raises. Freyja vanishes. While the executions have been… frequently interrupted, this part of the process is the same as ever. ]
Let no joyful voice be heard!
[ There he is. ]
Let no man look up to the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake…
[ But the last of that… never comes. The thud echoes, but then the sea darkens.
When the screens turn on, there’s an explanation for that. Something is blotting out the sun, leaving just enough light that the deck is bathed in what almost seems like the orange glow of sunset, darkening to twilight.
Freyja stands alone on the deck of the Dutchman - no Jones, no Jack, no crew, and no familiar plank and waiting beast. A wind starts to pick up, gently blowing the seaweed of the deck about.
You all can see the seaweed behind Freyja rise and knit itself into the form of a woman with wings, already appearing injured and distressed, but Freyja doesn’t. Not until her eyes follow the wind and land on her. Needless to say, from the look on her face, it’s clear she recognizes whoever this is. ]
Lady Freyja!
[ The reaction from Freyja is quick, but… not quick enough, it seems. As she runs towards the woman, as she is nearly close enough to touch her, a tentacle whips out from over the side of the ship, far quicker than any of you have ever seen the kraken move.
It doesn’t do either woman the service of pulling away quite so quickly. There’s long enough for a scream, and another call of Freyja’s name, before… well, whatever happens over the side of the ship. Freyja runs to the rail, to look over, but it’s clear that whatever happened, there’s nothing left.
Behind her, Davy Jones rises up from the floor of the Dutchman. He stands tall, a stiffness to him you haven’t seen from him, hands behind his back. When he speaks, it’s quiet, though it somehow picks up over all the noise. ]
In the end, everyone fears death. Some just don’t fear their own.
[ He slams his crab claw shut, turning about on his heel, and two tentacles whip out to grab and pull Freyja back over the side of the ship. This one is quick, almost outwardly a mercy.
Freyja is dead.
The screens turn off, almost as unceremoniously. ]
Jones! What- Why- Aw, why didn’t you TELL me you could do that?
Hah… Alright, another one down. You can all go.
