FIFTH TRIAL

[ It's not terribly long, once everything has been found, before Davy Jones heads out to round you all up once more and take you into the theatre. At least plenty of you are around the same area, so it probably doesn't take terribly long.

The ride down to the trial room is the same as ever - a blast of the organ, a slow descent. It's really starting to become clear, though, just how your numbers are decreasing. You're already down three, counting the absence of Chloe, potentially more when you come back up.

The crew of the Dutchman is singing as Jones lets you out into the trial room. ]

To business, passengers. I am about if you need guidance.

[ The circle of podiums is less populated than ever. So many of you are islands now, so to speak.

The song dies down, the waters quiet.

He could have been propped up after death. I don't think the death wound was caused by those knives anyway.

Well, just one knife would've done it. Though, I do think it was caused by something else, and then the knife was inserted into the wound to try and disguise the actual weapon.

He was, ja. He had that tie-dye shirt on underneath his jacket.

Someone who's going to kill someone else would be smart to wear other clothes for it.

Precisely. It could have been just a coincidence, but it's looking more likely that it wasn't.

Probably, but wouldn't he leave his jacket behind instead of wearing something underneath it?

[If any blood falls on the jacket and Decus walks in the trial room without wearing that very noticeable jacket everyone would immediately know something's up]

That's what I'm thinking. It would have been easier to change into something else than try and get blood off of his jacket. He would've stood out not wearing it, wouldn't he?

Between the change of clothes and the motive, it might've been that Decus set out to specifically kill someone the other day--but things might've gone south for him. Maybe someone saw him attack Plumeria and decided to retaliate--it'd explain the knives afterwards.

[Hmmmm....]

So, for how Decus died--he got stabbed on his arm, and then stabbed in the chest....and then stuck him full of knives.

There was also a head wound, was there not?

There was, ja. Perhaps that could have stunned him for long enough to drop the sword or to fall to the ground, either way would have given someone the opportunity to get in close with the knives.

There was! Dunno if it was from a weapon or maybe someone smacking his head or somethin', someone else took a look at that.

How many of those injuries were after the altercation with Plumeria, though, and how many got inflicted during? I'd be speaking ill of the dead if I said I didn't think she was perfectly capable of stabbing someone.

I agree. She punched me, and even though she wasn't particularly strong, she's definitely more than capable of holding her own.

I'd assume the head wound and stab on his arm was from Decus' fight with Plumeria--but I have nothing to actually support this.
